How good could Chris Jones be as a rookie?
In case you missed it, Chris Jones was beasting again yesterday.
PFF seems to agree. He was our highest rated player overall for the preseason going into the game yesterday. Rookie DE Chris Jones looking like a second-round steal Quote:
It's pretty clear that Chris Jones can and will beat weaker/slower OL this year. He's proven that though 3 preseason games. What are your thoughts on this kid? Could he provide more than his replacement, Mike DeVito, this year? DeVito had 19 tackles, 3 stuffs and 3 sacks. |

Dorsey went into the draft with late picks in each round and no third rounder. Pretty solid work.

Hill and Jones alone make this a successful draft.
The other guys are pretty good too. |

He'll be better as a rookie than Dee Ford will ever be, period.

The Post is praising Chris Jones... I feel that he could single handedly put us over the top into becoming the top NFL defense if he can shore up our mediocre run defense. Teams have been double teaming Poe for years, now they are going to have to play honest. With Houston back our pass defense should be one of the best for a 3rd year in a row. Defense wins championships!! |

I think the Chargers and their worst O-line in football last year-are going to have their hands full with Mr. Jones.

Hopefully. The only hope for preventing this game from being a shootout is if our DL rises up to the challenge and makes up for the lack of outside rushers.

I am not worried about the pass rush. I think we will generate a lot of pressure up front, throw in a few blitzes and control the clock.
