I had that happen in Denver. It's not fun or pretty. All I was wishing was that the players had to run the same gauntlet that the fans who travel to watch them have to suffer. For some silly reason I was thinking it might encourage them to play even harder to avoid the insults.

It's not our fault your team has sucked balls for 40 years. You all have done nothing but bitch, whine, name call, denigrate Boston, etc.,. If you want to see a bunch of assholes, try looking around at each other. It's not our fault we have a fortuitous trio of some of the GOAT (if not the GOAT) at owner, coach, and quarterback. As is typical of society nowadays, though, it's easier to tear down the successful instead of fixing the reasons why you're unsuccessful. Say what you want about Denver, but at least they win. Say what you want about Oakland, but at least they got a Super Bowl win in this century. If the Chiefs had the 15-year history the Patriots currently do, you'd all be as happy as pigs in shit and be lording it over the rest of the NFL. In the salary cap era of parity, there's a reason why certain teams always stay at the top. New England, Denver, Pittsburgh, KC: three of those finalists have a history of great ownership, great success, great quarterbacking, and great coaching, and always show up in the playoffs; one is the Chiefs. It took an amazing yet lucky 11-game win streak to overcome a shitty underachieving start and finally win a playoff game since most of you were sperm. Keep whining about the Big Boys; it's ****ing hilarious and pathetic.

I just want one Pats fan to say "yes they/we cheated." You don't even need to throw out any specifics on which rule they broke.

Diehard fans of Team X always think the home fans of their biggest rival or most hated other team are the worst.
Bottom line is this - every stadium has loud, drunk and obnoxious fans... they're all 10 foot tall and bullet proof when the home team is winning and feel endowed with a certain right to be a special kind of prick to the fans in the other team's jersey. And, it gets amplified in big games ... to suggest that KC fans are any better or that Denver fans are the worst is silly. There's a big contingent at all home games that suck like you've described and make it miserable for most. The lone game I attended in KC many years ago was like that... it is what it is, we just choose to ignore it when our own screw up and we believe that others are much worse. "It's not my kid, I raised 'em right - they'd never do that. Now, 'those kids', yeah... their parents are messed up."

I won't argue that getting Andy did get us a well-known name, but I'm still not convinced he's set a tone that demands success "or else." And he's at another fork in the road, he can either rest on the laurels of this year's improvement and do nothing, or he can "review the tape" (at his level) and fix some of the problems that are within his span of control. I'm not suggesting he walk into the room and act like an asshole right off the bat, but if Andy doesn't agree to something more than "trying harder" with the clock and in-game play-calling, then he might want to emulate BB when it comes to players who don't agree with him. Again, not quite as assholish as BB would be, but he shouldn't negotiate about fixing it without something serious. Then Andy can spend the added time pressing the players to perfect their back-shoulder timing routes and enforcing the "just do your job" concept. I'm sure he does a lot of it, but we look like we could use even more of it. And last the players. Once they see that Andy is being forced to make changes he might not like, they might catch-on that they have to do better too. I don't think you can do much about injuries, not at all, but when you're not injured, just do your job... |
