Andrew Luck out 2-6 weeks with lacerated kidney

By Around the NFL NFL.com
Published: Nov. 10, 2015 at 03:05 p.m.
Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will miss two to six weeks with multiple abdominal injuries, the team announced Tuesday.

"The injuries happened at the end of an early fourth quarter scramble when Andrew was doing everything he could to get us the win," said coach Chuck Pagano in a statement released by the team. "Andrew was sore after the game and was feeling a little worse Monday afternoon so we sent him to get tests."

The tests revealed a laceration in one of Luck's kidneys and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle. The injuries should not require surgery and full recovery from both is expected within two to six weeks.

"It's way too early to guess how long Andrew will be out," said Pagano. "We're going to keep listening to the doctors and evaluating his progress on a week by week basis. We've got all the confidence in the world in Matt Hasselbeck and we're not going to put Andrew back out there until he's healed and ready to go."

He signed an extension through 2030 in Jacksonville that was designed specifically to prevent the team from moving. One provision dictates that if the team left the city, they'd owe the entirety of the lease to the city immediately.

Khan also spent $30 million of his own money on improvements to the stadium in Jacksonville just 2 years ago.

They lead the league in 15 yarders so far this season.

Their defense's MO has been to hit opposing QB's early in the game hard, low, whatever to throw them off for the rest of the game. They are doing that. 15 yards early to potentially throw off the entire passing game is what their game plan has been all year.

Talk radio in Denver is worried about the league, through the refs, taking a harder stand on this type of play by the Broncos right from the games get go. Especially now that they have ruined the season of the league's new golden boy.

Denver's defense has been playing dirty all season. They are going to pay the price for it from here on out.

**** you Donkeys.

The cheap shot was the guy coming over the back on Luck leading with the helmet on the secondary hit after he was down.

Either hit could have caused the laceration.

But the second hit was definitely a cheap shot.

Colts m.o. Is for their qb to win thier games while the coaching staff and defense enjoys the ride.. The defense played well vs Denver but anyone other than luck would've lost that game, he's a gamer.

Danny Trevathan and Vance Walker ate Luck's kidney with some fava beans and a good Chianti.

Really? I'd suggest watching that again in normal speed... hell, are you telling me he had more than a second to course correct mid-step and the Colt running into him din't help? You act as if that guy took 3-4 steps and then hit Luck. You're insane.

I don't see how you can watch that at normal speed and believe that... of course, when someone falls forward they lead with their head.

The time between the two hits is maybe a second, Luck was spun around on a great tackle by Trevathan. If you want to call the next hit dirty, so be it.. but it's clearly not. Anyone that really believes that really has a problem watching football most Sundays as you have to believe 90% of all tackles are cheap shots.

I don't even know if someone like TEX believes it's a cheap shot.

But, you know, if I was a Bronco fan, I'd go with the whole "clean hit to the back of the QB's head because the player was already in motion" thing.

Seems legit.
