I don't get how "being white" = being over privileged.

I mean, if I were BLACK, I could :
Get a check each month
Go to college for free
get my meals paid for
Have free health insurance

Because I'm white, I not only have to pay for those things for myself...but for a bunch of other people too.

That "white privilege" bullshit is some kind of rhetoric that a sociology professor made up...it doesn't exist.

If anyone is privileged, it's the black folk in America.
Prayers sent.

This message just illustrates what a stupid piece of shit Cris Carter is. I don't care how many speeches he gives detailing his past mistakes and how he learned from them and is a better man now. This speech proves he's full of shit.
+100

LoneWolf nails it right here.

It's all about ACCOUNTABILITY.

My parents did drugs. I grew up in Independence...and through the 90s, the place was truly the Meth capital of the world.

I did lots of the shit - it was everywhere, everyone was doing it, and it was always cheap (or free). My parents, my cousins, my schoolmates...everyone I knew (except my grandparents) was doing the meff. There was theft, fencing of stolen goods, sex with women (young and older), LOTS of rock and roll...

One day, about a week before my 16th birthday, I woke up, and wondered what I was going to do with my life. I realized that MY life was in MY hands, and that I was tired of doing what I was doing.

I left home that day, haven't looked back. Got my own apt. There have been hiccups on the road, but I don't regret anything. Ever since I became accountable for my own actions, and did not blame any of my actions on where I came from, what my parents did or didn't do, what everyone was doing back home, etc.

I am responsible for me and and my actions. ME

Where I grew up has absolutely NOTHING to do with my actions today.

I like that.

Society has been doing it for years. They just don't want to hear it, and then blame it on everyone else. Oh the oppression......

Seeing as it hasn't happened yet, I'm not holding my breff.

Seeing as the same type of people act the same way whether they are "from the ghetto" or not, I have to wonder if it's really such an environmental issue...gnomesaine??

I like to listen to Mike & Mike on ESPN radio when I'm driving in to work, but I generally turn it off whenever they have Cris Carter as a guest. Carter is just a little too arrogant and egotistical for me. But what really annoys is the way Mike Greenberg fawns all over Cris Carter. The homo-erotic love he shows for Carter just gets really old.

I keep expecting Cris Carter to bitch slap Mike Greenberg and say "Get my cock out of your mouth", but he won't. They both like it too much.

Cris Carter: Engage in obstruction of justice to maximize your earning potential.
NFL: We approve of this message.

The controversy shouldn't revolve around Cris Carter, but rather the NFL, who sponsored the event, and viewed the message as being solid enough to put up a video on their web site. We all know that the NFL doesn't care about their players' legal infractions directly, but only about the associated bad PR. Fair enough. But how stupid do they have to be to taunt the public with that fact?

We constantly hear about how the NFL influences children as well as all the lower levels of the sport.
I think some are forgetting that the NFL just sent this message to those same children looking up to the NFL players.

And then those same people wonder, how people end up that way, how did society end up this way, where did the kids get these ideas from. It is pretty damn obvious.
