Peyton is the most consistent QB of all-time!

QBR became a clutch weighted QBR formula that was developed and started rating QB's in 2006:

Here are Peyton's ranks:

06: 1
07: 2
08: 1
09: 1
10: 2
11: DNP
12: 1
13: 1
14: 3

Postseason:

06: 1
07: 1
08: 1
09: 3
10: 3
12: 8
13: 2
14: 7

No one else comes even close. He does more for his team to win games than any player has ever had to, and it's not close.

I get using this info to defend one's stance, but to post a thread, when not one person is discussing the issue, comes across pretty pathetically. It's like the debate lingers in your head and festers. The moment you found one thing to prove your stance it had to be posted immediately.

I think the responses to this thread are highlighting the fact that I am not the only one to feel this way.

You're probably trolling, but sure I can help.

538.com's analysis of QB value, based on net yards per attempt once adjusted for strength of schedule, home field advantage and weather effects, shows that:

The best one year by any QB ever was Brady's 2007.

The best two years by any QB ever was Brady's 2010-11.

etc. ad infinitum until the best 10 year period is Brady 2004-13.

I wasn't trolling ...

it is funny you are posting an article of 538 that props up Brady, though

since I posted an article from the same 538 website that said Brady's teams with a replacement level QB would have been 14-13 in the playoffs and Manning's would have been 8-16

they're both top 5 all-time without question

can't be tough on Brady anymore after that last Super Bowl ... that was a legacy game if I've ever seen one

Right, I remember you posted a 538 article on them before. I didn't remember what it said, but sure.

Glad to hear. I'll stop trolling you then (at least for now).

This is funny, because:

A) The guy who came up with this rating system says it's not accurate for single seasons : http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=3461

B) Peyton's 2004 was superior to Brady's 2007 in NY/A, ANY/A, and even this guy's "RANY/A", but according to this, Brady's 2007 was better because... Brady dropped back about 100 times more than Peyton.

Net yards per attempt has long been the most accurate statistic for predicting wins, therefore it is the most important statistic for a QB. Here are Brady and Manning's top 15 seasons in NY/A:

1) Manning 2004 8.74
2) Manning 2013 7.91
3) Brady 2011 7.87
4) Brady 2007 7.81
5) Manning 2005 7.80
6) Manning 2009 7.62
7) Manning 2006 7.55
8) Manning 2014 7.51
9) Manning 2012 7.49
10) Brady 2009 7.42
11) Manning 1999 7.35
12) Manning 2007 7.31
13) Manning 2000 7.25
14) Brady 2010 7.21
15) Manning 2003 7.12
