In that stat comparison Baldwin is the better athlete. Don't understand what happened to Baldwin. Must have been a mental thing.

DGB is a big reward / risk. Either a homerun or a strikeout.

Regardless of his baggage, he is 'gamer' and loves to play for the 'big play' when needed. He truly 'wants' the ball in crunch time and loves to make the 'big play' and that is what is needed on this team. He will not only go in the first because he is that good but NFL GMs have to win now and would much rather be fired for trying to do so in the here and now as opposed to being fired for being too cautious only to watch a guy like DGB have a Randy Moss type of rookie year when they had a chance to grab him.

What stands out with Beckham that you wouldn't get with any of the following big, athletic receivers, that don't carry the baggage:

Jaelen Strong
Breshad Perriman
Devante Parker
Chris Conley
DeAndre Smelter

Don't forget Washington State's Vince Mayle.

Because he ran a 4.67 at the Combine, he's becoming a forgotten man, but he's got superb tools and a ton of upside after only playing the WR position for the last three years after switching over from basketball.

Led the PAC 12 in catches (106), yardage (1,483) and was second in the country in receiving yards per game (123.6) while being what amounted to the only real offensive threat on a pretty bad Cougar team. He was constantly double teamed all year and put up ridiculous numbers against some very good defenses with a QB that threw him wounded ducks.

As well, it was found out at his Pro Day that he broke his thumb during the Senior Bowl but played through it and had to change up his start in the 40 at the Combine, which possibly cost him time from his measured 40 run. He was thought to be a little quicker on the field than what he posted. (He shows very good manueverability after the catch and has a second gear in the open field. Plays fast in pads for a guy his size.)

He's a big (yoked big), fluid guy who hasn't even begun to reach his potential as a receiver. To be honest, he reminds me a lot of Dwayne Bowe at the same stage but the bonus here is that he wouldn't be thrown in with a horrible coaching staff and QB's like Bowe was for the majority of his career. (He's got better hands than Bowe at the same stage.)

I think he'd be an absolute steal for the Chiefs in the fifth round, much the same as DeAndre Smelter, but without the knee injury rehab issue.

Yep forgot about Mayle when I was making the list. I agree he looks much faster on the field than 4.67.

I can't see DGB being drafted in 1st round in a draft with so much WR talent in it. If a team wants a WR there will be a good one available without having to take the risk that comes with DGB.

Mayle looks like a young A. Boldin. Very good receiver.

My dad's all over Dorial Green-Beckham at no. 18. Personally I think Landon Collins would be a better pick, but if you're going to take a WR, take Breshad Perriman.
