Tom Brady: Greatest ever?

So he now has four Super Bowls, just like Montana.

He also has the rare distinction of also winning one at the end of his career. Rarely happens to guys his age.

Also has disgusting numbers.

Difference in eras has to be considered, but it's certainly a conversation.

I think that covers all of the championships won since Brady was drafted. Nobody even comes close.
Huh?

My point was Flacco and Wilson are good young QB's who are also putting up great playoff numbers and wins, comparable to Brady when he was their age. He's a lot older than them so of course he has more wins at this point.

You think any of those guys are going to play in 30 playoff games in their careers?

I personally prefer Montana, but Brady has a place at the table for discussion to be sure.

Why not? You never know. Flacco is already halfway there according to your stats.

Besides, playoff games played isn't the deciding factor here. I'm guessing Terry Bradshaw has played in way more playoff games than Dan Marino. I wouldn't rank him anywhere close to Marino all time.

The older guys here have actually seen the older players perform.

I could argue, given the era, the rules, and the overall quality of teams that Johnny Unitas competed against, Johnny Unitas was the greatest ever, still.

The numbers he put up, and the plays he made, and the fact that practically invented the two minute drill, are all just amazing accomplishments.

No way Elway ranks ahead of Montana. 55-10 head to head puts that to rest pretty easy.

Also 4-0 in Superbowls versus 2-3.

But I guess people will say Montana never played with Rice and ignore that he won two Superbowls before Rice was even in the league.

I think the top 6 all-time QBs are set

Brady
Montana
Graham
Starr
Baugh
Unitas

and the only question is the order.

Montana, no question the man was an assassin in a time where they didn't protect the QB nearly as much as they do now . If it was Montana vs Elway then it's toss up IMO.

Montana, Brady, Unitas, Manning and Elway are all top 5. The next guy is up for grabs if you're looking at a top 6.
