So, I REALLY think this team has what it takes to make a playoff run...

Alex Smith threw for 300+ today. He's taking shots downfield. He looks like a star.

We have a one-two punch on both sides of the football. The one-two punch of JC and Knile Davis looked magnificent today. On the defensive side of the ball, Hali is getting pressure, and Justin Houston is absolutely raping the O-line.

Kelce fumbled today, but more than made up for it with his play on the TD. Between him, DAT, and Wilson, the Chiefs really have some weapons. Not to mention we have Bowe and Avant to mentor them.

with the replacement of Linkenbach for Mcglynn, the offensive line looks outstanding.

Once again though, Smith has completely restored my faith in him with his downfield, aggressive play today.

I'm ready for the playoff run, boys. Here we go!!

They've also given up 20 or more points in every game but 2 (Carolina, Jacksonville). They are horrible at defense. The past 5 weeks, they barely beat 4 under .500 teams.

If the Chiefs can find their early season groove and manage the game like they did against Seattle, they can and should beat Pittsburgh. For whatever reason, Alex Smith has become a 3rd down nightmare the last 4 or 5 games. I'm not a huge fan of our chances but let's not oversell Pittsburgh. They've survived a really easy schedule.

If the Chiefs play like they did pre-Raider week (TNF), they can beat Pittsburgh.

I have no idea what's happened the last few weeks. Yes, if their offense plays as bad as they've played the last few weeks, we're in trouble. But again, Pittsburgh has had some really miserable games this year against bad competition. Let's also not forget who their offensive playcaller is.

When they want to. They've had way too many games where their offense has looked like a steaming pile of shit. And many of those games have been over the past 5 weeks.

I have a feeling they will want to be elite next Sunday.

28 points, minimum.

More than enough for poor Alex to fold.

Let me be clear about something. The way Alex Smith is playing, I worry he won't put up nearly enough points even against a defense as terrible as Pittsburgh's.

Where I disagree with you is minimalizing our defense. Our defense has been good this year against some terrific offenses. I agree Pittsburgh has the talent to play some elite offense. The question is why they disappear as often as they do. Probably because of Haley. If we're putting Haley and Sutton in a chess match, I'm going with Sutton. It's a nice advantage for the Chiefs that they know most of Haley's tendencies.

We've played better offenses or equal offenses than the Steelers.

I think it's funny that people act like this is the first good offense we've seen all year. I'm more worried about our defense having to cover the ass for our shitty offense. I don't understand the panic over our defense. I would expect a game similar to Tennessee where Bell ran all over the defense, but the Steelers were so terrible in all other elements of the game, they still managed to keep the game close.

I'm pretty sure the Chiefs will win this one by miracle, then get routed by SD.

Reid hates, HATES winning in his division.

I don't have very high hopes that we'll win out, but for different reasons than everyone else. I don't think we suck. I think we have a team with a habit that will never end in the Andy Reid era of us shooting ourselves in the foot.

Pittsburgh is going to be extremely tough. We stopped the run today by using that big bear front to stop the run, and the rookie QB Carr couldn't make the throws he needed to make under pressure.

If this type of defense is utilized to try to stop Bell, then Roethlisberger has a very good chance at his third 6TD game of the season, as our secondary in no way matches up well with the receivers for Pittsburgh.

Whatever Sutton tries this week, its likely damned if you do, damned if you don't. If he backs off to shore up the secondary, the front 7 wont be strong enough to shut down Bell, and they will be far too worried about stopping Bell to get any sort of real pressure on Ben.

Not only that, Ben is a better QB when a play breaks down than he is from the pocket.

Only way the Chiefs win this is if they get one stop and then score on every possession and each possession takes a shit-ton of clock.

Ike Taylor is pretty shit though. If our WR's cant get a TD from whoever lines up on Ike Taylor, it isn't happening this season.
