CP Jeep Folks

2001 XJ, won't turn over. Electric works. Took it to a shop I thought I trusted yesterday who said the starter was bad and replaced it. Picked it up and brought it home last night. Just went out to run some errands and it won't turnover, same thing, electric fine just won't start.

Any thoughts on what's wrong with it? This thing has been stolen a few times in the past, ignition maybe?

Did I totally get jobbed on replacing the starter yesterday?

Nothing new under the sun my friend, all cars and trucks can have the same problems, it's basically the same design. Poor casting or just lack of maintenance, pretty sure mine is the latter.

... there was a series of heads for the I6 in the 2000 and 2001 Cherokees and Wranglers that had serious issues with the head cracking,

Its a shame all those stupid switches and sensors were often the downfall of those otherwise fantastic 4.0L engines.

Going to post my own question here rather than a new thread since it looks like OP's got answered.

I have a 2013 JKR. My front differential keeps leaking. I have had the dealer and a 3rd party re-seal it several times. This is a 4x4 used for crawling and I do have some armor on my diffs for protection, but what do I need to do to keep the diff oil in the actual diff?

Yes its a Rubicon. And the leak is coming from the seam of the diff cover at the bottom. I can take a picture tonight if needed.

Are they just using RTV or an actual gasket?

If just RTV then the cover could be shifting and then leaking. You might try something like http://www.quadratec.com/products/52416_101.htm

Yes. You need to post pictures of your Rubicon in the Gear Head topic, Pictures forum.
Otherwise, penguinz already has your problem covered. Only other thing I could think of is if the bolts are shaking loose, then some Stage 8 fasteners might be called for.

Just posted pics in Gear Head thread. But for purposes of this convo here is a pic where you can kind of see the glide plate over the differential that I have.

guarantee there was always fluid at the bottom on the sealing surface when they re sealed it and that will make them leak every time.
