Justin Houston will get a long term deal done!

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole has said the Chiefs have confirmed getting a long term deal done with Justin Houston despite initial hesitation

He said he will get north of what Robert Quinn makes and south of what JJ Watt makes.

Also said Chiefs didn't like his leadership and had poor work ethic but since the start of the season it has done a complete 180. Said the Chiefs see this as good use of money to invest in this type of player

Parkins on 610 didn't say that his leadership was poor but he said that Houston was never vocal in the past and didn't really do the things a defensive leader should be doing but that he's been 100% different this season. More vocal, more willing to get after teammates and/or coach them up etc.

Houston does more than just rush the passer. He goes back in coverage, asks to stop the run, play man to man Nd he does all these things really well

Well then, maybe there's some truth. Maybe the coaches mentioned in negotiations that they'd like him to be a more vocal leader. And he's responded this season.

You recall him getting beat to the outside by a ****ing RB that weighs 50 pounds less than him? You don't ****ing say!

Do you watch any other games? Did you happen to see JJ Watt draw two roughing the punter penalties in their game yesterday? Did you see Earl Thomas get his dick dusted by Kelce and miss a horrible open field tackle on Jamaal's 40 yarder yesterday? Where was your butt buddy Kam Chancellor all game, who according to you is the best thing since sliced bread?

Guys, even All-Pros, have bad plays and even bad games. Get off that shit.

With Berry and DJ hurt he probably felt they needed someone to fill those voids. You dont need 11 Chiefs out there.. just 2 or 3 and the rest Indians.

Sounds to me like the coaches and FO want him to take the torch from Hali as the leader at OLB before they are ready to commit a big part of the cap to him.

I hope that they can go all the way this year though, cause it sounds like Hali's time might be up as a Chief. That is unless he is willing to take a new deal that drops his pay considerably to remain on this team for a few more seasons.
