Actor Steven Bauer 57, steps out with girlfriend Lyda Loudon 18

Wow

Some say age is just a number.

"Ray Donovan" star and "Scarface" actor Steven Bauer, 57, stepped out for lunch with his 18-year-old girlfriend, Lyda Loudon, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Studio City, California. The two were photographed leaving the organic eatery SunCafe.

Us Weekly confirmed Bauer and Loudon's romance in July after they attended the "Magic in the Moonlight" premiere together.

At the time, Loudon's mother, Gina Gentry Loudon, wrote a candid blog post about her daughter's relationship with Bauer for WorldNetDaily. She described how their family dealt with the relationship and admitted she wondered "why Mr. Bauer did not walk the moment he realized where all of this was going."

"My daughter’s choice has challenged me," wrote Gentry Loudon, an author and Fox News contributor. "In perspective, this was a choice regarding love. She did not choose to break the law, harm an innocent or betray our country. Several friends asked us to consider whether love really is a choice. Others beseeched us to embrace that she found a special love with a special, gentle man. These were defining questions."

Bauer was previously married to Melanie Griffith. They have a 28-year-old son, Alexander

I've mentioned this previously, but I find the evolution of attractiveness quite interesting.

When I was 18, 18 year-old girls were the ultimate and no one over 30 was attractive at all.

Then when I was 30, the most attractive women were age 25-30 and I could leer at some of the nicer 40 year olds. 18 year-olds were attractive, but not as attractive as the women ten years older than them.

Now I'm 51, and the most attractive women in general are 35 to 40, and I can even leer at some of the nicer 55 year-olds. 18 year-olds are certainly not unattractive, but they're a long way down my list of preferred ages. An attractive 35 year-old blows away an attractive 18 year-old.

Why does this happen? It seems like genetically I should always prefer an 18 year in the primitive part of my brain that wants fertility and healthy children.

It's the reptile part of your brain.

It's the same as why women love money and men love breasts.

It's programmed. It's genetic. It's based on the ability to provide for your offspring...

He's telling the truth...but only half of it. When I was 18, 30 year old women were ancient. As I got older (and uglier, coincidentally) my standards evolved to where those 30 and 40 year old women were doable. But that doesn't mean I stopped finding girls in their early 20s unattractive.

Find me a smart, funny 18 year old with life experience under his fingernails instead of just vaginal secretions and I might be able to look past the number. Otherwise, my physical attractions have always and forever been emotionally based. And it's fairly hard for me to muster up emotions for someone that hasn't lived.

What the **** would we talk about?
