No. Believe me, I wouldn't mistake it for a Rick Moranis movie, I'm a huge Rick Moranis guy. I own both Waynes Worlds on VHS. I also have the whole Austin Powers trilogy saved on a memory stick.

Did you know both Wayne's World movies were produced by Rick Astley? Fact, look it up.

I thought his career would be over when Milly Vanilly broke up but he just kept going on. That guy is a beast.

Truly one of the best.
I think you have to put it in the context of the time period. There were riots in the movie houses- gangs fights-lots of bad publicity. Parents-including my own would not let their kids see it. Libraries would not order the book. It was banned in many places-LA and New York areas. It was taboo. I finally found a used book - novel by Sol Yurick and read it. It was a pretty good book. I was pleased the movie turned out better when I finally got to watch it years later on Channel Z (the first cable ppv) I was not disappointed. I hope they never make a remake. This movie is like Jaws or Rocky- the new generations think they suck- but at the time- they made a Huge impact on society. |
