I have always said Colorado. Of course, after spending time up in Omaha this weekend I actually would consider Nebraska. But that has more to do with the people I know and the people I met.

My choices vary wildly by the circumstances of 'living in a state."
Is money an object? No in the sense of 'can I spend like an asshole?' but more like 'rent and utilities are not a concern.' Do I have any control over where I end up in said state? I'd love to live in NY's five boroughs [preferably Manhattan], but would probably prefer Alaska or Idaho to Buffalo, NY. Do I have any control/sway over who joins me. ie, does moving somewhere remote demand loved ones or close friends remain behind, or do I get a 'who's with me' opportunity? In all, the two things that keep me from saying Manhattan, full stop, is; Cars, and a space to wield power tools, woodworking, metal working, welding, motor and electronics repair/fabrication, all are such a source of relaxation.

I love Florida, don't really think I could live somewhere else. But if I did it would be Cali. The reggae scene there is so much bigger than in Florida. So although I may regret it I chose Cali!

Always been a fan of Colorado, and being able to smoke weed legally there just ups the ante.
For somebody who enjoys spending time in the outdoors Colorado is Mecca and I hope to eventually settle there someday. |

If not for the people, the government, and the cost of living, I'd choose California. The state has everything: beaches, mountains, forests, deserts, heat, cool, farmland...it's a naturally incredible state.

We had a chance to relocate to Hawaii a few years ago but we turned it down. People we knew that lived there said they got sick of it after a couple of years.
