PSA: It's Workzone Safety Awareness Week
It's that time of year once again. Construction season is starting up and therefore you will be seeing more constructions zone. Remember that the highway workers would like to go home to their families, too.

That's really an argument for another day. And I really don't see how that is valid, if true.

I have always believed that construction zones and work zones should be two different things. People drive through so many construction zones that have no work going on that they just get used to nobody working and just speed on through them out of habit. If they would put up work zones with a flashing light when they are actually there people would pay a bit more attention driving through them.

driving and working in construction zones is a 2 way street. you have to be cautious regardless what side of the barrel you are on.

Yeah, this would allow you to have it setup so that you have the construction zone speed and a different speed for work zone, both could be lower than the normal speed limit. But I've also seen "construction zones" where there were some vehicles parked off the medians and the cones off the side of the road as well, where the speed limit should be normal as it really isn't any more dangerous than regular driving conditions.
