What are you getting at here? Isn't every successful team the result of changing out an ineffective coach for a good one (QB as well)?

San Francisco went from a horrendous team to a perennial contender by replacing Singletary with Harbaugh.
Denver went from shit to AFC champ by upgrading from McDaniel and Tebow to Fox and Manning
Seattle was garbage before Carroll and Russell Wilson.

Apart from a few hiccups, this team has over performed.

Where would we be right now with a healthy Derrick Johnson and Eric Berry?

If we hadn't lost our only legit deep threat for a long stretch...

This team is about to get another infusion of talent from what should be a strong draft class and the team having another year under its belt on both sides of the ball.

I expect big things next year and I haven't given up on this year, either.

That you can't say that firing underperforming coaches/QBs after a few years doesn't lead to better results.

The question that needs to be asked is whether or not Reid and co. are performing at a desirable level or not and what is the eventual ceiling for this team.

I'm not saying that firing them is the answer, but the squalor of mediocrity isn't a convincing argument for not doing it, either.

We went from Crennel and Cassel to Reid and Smith. That is a pretty good jump in talent as well.
Surely you aren't comparing Reid to Singletary and McDaniel. That would be ludicrous to put him in their shit category.

Reid is a top 5 coach. We need to give him 2 more years to really make some strides. We make a change before that and we might as well become the ****ing Raiders.

Jumping from 2-14 to the playoffs in the first year and then being in the thick of the playoff hunt with a massive amount of injuries the second year is not what I would call the "squalor of mediocrity". Did you expect them to take the team that had the number one overall draft pick to the SuperBowl in year 1?

Considering what they started with this regime gets 3 years. Firing a HC who has coached a team to 5 straight NFC Champ games in year two of his contract doesn't seem smart to me. Especially after turning a 2 win team into a playoff team and a team that's still in the hunt going into December in year two.

Exactly. The Chiefs where short handed coming into the season having not made any significant moves this off season. In fact, they created holes where there weren't any. True, the coaching has not been good sometimes, BUT that same coaching has enabled the Chiefs to get into playoff contention in spite of all the flaws...When the coaching is bad it's bad - when it's good, it's good. The Chiefs are a flawed team but still at 7-5, are exactly where I thought they would be at this point in the season and I'm sure they are better record -wise than most figured them to be.

The team that went 2-14 did not have the talent of a 2-14 team. Don't be a ****ing dumbass.

Dorsey is a perfectly average NFL GM, and average GMs can improve bad teams, especially bad teams with talent. Andy Reid is a good NFL coach, and good coaches can improve poorly coached teams.

I wouldn't expect anyone to turn the 2012 Chiefs into contenders overnight; that's not the expectation. The expectation is whether or not this regime can build a contender at all. Maybe they can. Given their personnel moves and Reid's gameday coaching, I'm extremely skeptical.
