Ants, you got them?

Been fighting ants for the last month, rain is bringing them in. Inside I have been using 1 part 20 mule team borax 3 parts sugar and some pancake syrup, kills them for a couple day's. Just brought out the big guns and hosed down the foundation with pesticide. Anyone else fighting these little buggers?

We've used this for years with good results, but we got a couple kittens for our kids this past Christmas. Now I need to find a pet friendly solution.

EDIT: http://www.terro.com/faq#Pets It's apparently OK to use around pets and kids

You can get Terro traps for inside and outside, where the cats won't get into it.

We've got ants...and in a couple months those stinky orangish lady bug things will likely strike. Those things are indestructible.

It's incredibly annoying because my daughters are both just horrified of all bugs. Their 10 year old little shit-head uncle said a bunch of stuff to them a year ago that has instilled a straight up bug phobia in them.

Question for you.....the outlets those little bastards stream in from, is it from an outlet on a wall with an outdoor patio on the other side of that wall?

The napalm I put down must have worked, I no longer have any aunts (or uncles and maybe future grand children) and hazmat may now be monitoring my house.

Yeah, we don't have the nasty spiders like Brown Recluse that are everywhere in the midwest. I've seen a black widow or two, along with other varieties and I'll do my best to draw them outside.

That said, scorpions are different animal altogether. I detailed our fight with them on CP way back in 2004 and it took months to get rid of them. I took one sting in on the foot and my oldest Lab took one on the lip (she tried to eat it).

But again, we don't live in "the city', we live in the hills. I see and hear coyotes every day, see deer at Lake Hollywood five times a week and there's even a tagged bobcat around these parts.

If we have insect problems, that's on the exterminator, which isn't cheap.
