I'm not so sure. Look at what is happening in Indianapolis. They could possibly be in the playoffs this year... after losing several decent players such as Clark and Garcon... and adding a QB.

Geno Smith to this team could have us right back in the picture pretty fast.

IMO, the biggest thing that went wrong this season was Pioli forcing Cassel back on this team when it was pretty clear most of the players and coaches were on the Orton bandwagon late last season. That decision by Pioli did far more damage than any other decision he made... including the CB things.

thats what it takes though, a huge roster turnover like Indy. A new regime would have to cut all of Scott Pioli's shit talent and replace with something resembling real talent and hope for the best.

Yes, but the Colts still have some holdover talent from previous years as well. Freeney, Mathis, Wayne, Saturday, and so on. We have some that need to move on, but have several huge pieces in place that would make it easy for someone like Smith to come in and turn this thing around very quickly.

Freeney has 6 tackles and 1 sack this year.

Mathis has less than 20 tackles and 6 sacks.

Saturday is playing for Green Bay.

i dont think you truly realize the turnover they had

lets break it down

New FO.
New Coaching
New rookie QB

those 3 things are what we want, but on top of that lets look at their roster around the QB and the new coaching regime

New scheme: Check. 34 in the vein of the Ravens/Steelers tree. New offensive scheme as well

Old players.

defense-
OLBers Freeney, Mathis, Jerry Hughes
NT - Johnson
DE - Moala
MLB - Pat Angerer, Kavelle Connor
CB - NOBODY. ****ING NOT ONE PLAYER
SS - NO ONE
FS - Antoine Bethea

so thats it. So that means the turnover was 3 NEW LBERS, 1 NEW 5 tech, a backup OLBer, 5 new CBs, 2 new SS, a new FS, etc. Pat Angerer, who had 148 tackles last season has been demoted to like 2nd string and split snaps with the new coachings new talent.

that's 6 new starters on defense. and all new depth at every position

They went out and traded for Vontae Davis.

The offense has all new WRs but Reggie Wayne. New TEs. New RBs but Donald Brown and an half the o-line rebuilt.

out of 22 starters that team turned over half of them one season. easy.

It's not JUST the QB. That's what people will need to realize.

Guys like Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson and Javier Areans and Kendrick Lewis and Tony Moeaki and Peyon Hillis will be replaced.

Us being in the playoffs next year counts on a few things:

1. Rookie QB being a stud.

2. New HC being a badass.

3. San Diego and Oakland sucking.

4. 3 of the 4 NFC East teams being beatable.

If we can pick up 4 division wins and 2 NFC East wins we might get in.

Speaking of this, I haven't been able to find the list of opponents for future seasons. Used to be on the Chiefs website.

Got a link?

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Our offense would instantly look exponentially better if we had a QB who could play-action pass effectively.

The Yep lizard just coughed up a big hunk of Yep on that deal right there.

You're right, Mr. DeezNutz. That one, single capability could and probably would move the hell out of the chains. It's crazy to even think about.

It's simply incredible that we don't have a quarterback who can run the play-action. You either want to laugh or cry.

Charles might have two more years left of high-level production, so I'd like to see a talented n00b in here next season, with designs to try to make a strong run at things in '14, likely giving Charles the '06 LJ treatment in the process.

I don't want him to "evaluate."

I want him to understand the problem, have a clear solution, and be aggressive in implementing it...
