Chiefs trying to trade Justin Houston
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Chiefs talking to teams about trading OLB Justin Houston.
We doubt they're successful. Houston turned 30 last month and carries an exorbitant $21.1 million cap hit. If the Chiefs don't find a trade partner, they're fully expected to release Houston, especially with Dee Ford likely coming back on either a big-money deal or the franchise tag. Houston's play has slipped in recent years, but he can be an effective sub-package rusher off the edge https://www.rotoworld.com/football/n...as-city-chiefs https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...carr-and-more/ https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/...justin-houston |

A team that needs a pass rusher, and who doesn't think they'd be able to sign him if he became a FA.

Sports fans are the only people in the world who pretends like losing millions shouldn't be a big deal and that everyone should be ok with it just because they've already made millions.

And neither Cleveland, Atlanta, nor SF should trade for him when he isn't anywhere close to the missing piece for any of those teams

@BKSportsTalk: The #Chiefs currently have $27 million in cap space. That bumps to $50 million with a Justin Houston trade & an Eric Berry post-June 1 release. Cut Daniel Sorenson & Xavier Williams, and you're up to $55 million in cap space for the offseason. That's some serious coin.
@MattVerderame: @BKSportsTalk They don't get Berry's money until June 1, though, and Ford's tag is about $16M. Still more room, but not quite that figure from the jump |

Why? He's been on the bench forb2 years. He's done and his price is rediculous. Cut him in June, save what you can and move on.
