Did anyone notice Taylor Mays on the field against the Chiefs?

I noticed he was completely invisible. Completely. I don't even remember his name being called.

Mecca?

I will never waiver on my take that Mecca is NOT really a Chiefs fan.

Mays also committed holding on a special teams play. That was the only play I noticed him on.

You yourself said it was a waste of a second round pick to use on McCluster because you could never see him holding up for very long in the NFL.

And while I don't remember anyone actually calling them busts as soon as they were drafted, I certainly remember a LOOOT of people berating Pioli for this past draft.

But like I said, that's why posters are posters and guys like Pioli win NFL executive of the decade and have multi million dollar NFL jobs.
I have never wavered from my belief that McCluster's long term durability has to be a concern.

And the argument was made that the goal for a second round pick that high should be to find a player that is a solid contributor for years.

Whether or not you are successful at that is irrelevent to the goal.

And a LOOOT of people berated this draft because of concerns about run defense and the O-Line.

I myself felt we needed to address the RT position even though I have been a vocal backer of Barry Richardson since he was drafted and felt that, given the opportunity, he would play well and grow into the position.

I just didn't believe he would be given the opportunity.

I also felt we needed to address the center position because I didn't think that Weigman would play as well as he has, and I still do have concerns about how well he holds up over the course of 16 games.

On defense, I expected Dorsey to step it up another notch, but still felt that we needed to address NT because I had no faith in either Edwards or Smith.

I also had the same concerns at ILB, because I never expected DJ to step up, and I never saw Belcher playing lights out the way he has (though I did believe he was a far better option than Mays).

I readily admit that I underestimated the impact that Crennell would have on this defense, as I believe that many others did as well.

The two positions that were discussed repeatedly over the off season that I felt pretty good about was LT, because I have been the #1 supporter of Albert since long before the draft, and guard, because I htought Lilja was a good pickup and told people he was the best run blocker on that Colts O-Line, and was a good pass blocker who didn't get credit because of Manning.

How exactly are they owning Berry? Berry has been a monster on run defense stop comparing him to Earl ****ing Thomas! Just because he got to interceptions in one game. Big ****ing whoop he gets burnt like toast every other play. And to top that when they played Denver go back and watch him he can't stop the run for shit. I was at the game last Sunday Berry was a hell a lot better against San Francisco and he had to guard Davis half the time and shut him down. Berry is light years ahead of Earl Thomas end of discussion!

Last year, when the Chiefs were 0-3, Mecca lived on this board.

This year, the Chiefs are 3-0, and Mecca is around here much, much less.

I doubt it's some coincidence.

I reckon that, should Berry get a pick or two, people will start talking about him as one of the better safeties in the league.

Big plays make big names. Run support is for unsung heroes.

This is the key for me too. In no way did I think that Crennell would have the front 7 playing like they have been. He took a set of DL and LB that looked like they were two pieces and a season or two away from being good and made them good practically overnight. Granted, there were posters on here that did think that this would happen, but their "argument" to support it was 100% hope.

BECAUSE of the progress that the front 7 has made, the 2nd round luxury picks I thought were made two years too soon all of a sudden don't look like they were made too soon.
