The way I look at it....it isnt my money, so **** it. Should be entertaining. KC is in good cap shape for a while.
They definitely over-paid for him...but he was the WR they wanted for over a year, possibly since the draft. Veach pointed out that they wouldn't be high enough to draft a WR like him. It's only a 3 year deal anyways.. They have plans for him...no doubt. |

What some people just can't comprehend is that Pat Mahomes is our freakin QB now. Not Alex "check down" Smith, Matt Casshole, Elvis Girlbac, Steve Ohh-No, etc.... We moved up in the draft, then gave every legit fan an erection by drafting PAT FREAKIN' MAHOMES. This guy has brass balls and nerves of steel. Giving a QB of his caliber more weapons to stretch the field will not only help Hill and Kelce get open, but just make Ware and Hunt a household name.

More idiocy from the red and gold herp-a-derp squad. We need to "over correct" this ****ing fan base and the majority idiots who "write"/tweet for it.

The Chiefs have given the discerning football fan NOTHING to get excited about for the last 20 years. Now, finally, all of the pieces are coming together and falling in to place. Yes, the defense needs work and I have my doubts about Coach Metamucil being worth a shit even with a squad of pro bowlers on this defense, but it seems to me that Bret Veach is dead ****ing serious about building a yearly winner in Kansas City. And for that, I can exercise patience while he moves the defensive chess pieces over the next two seasons including, god willing, the release of Buttons if he can't get his shit together in terms of matching productivity with the other side of the football.

Having Watkins with Smith most games wouldn't matter anyway. He is a WR nightmare. Can't throw in tight window in the red zone.

And so it starts. I love the sammy watkins signing. The sad thing is the only reason I hate it is that this will make life a living hell dealing with Alex fanboys. If mahomes does well, it's because he was surrounded by talent. If mahomes is anything short of spectacular, they'll ask why he wasn't outstanding given the talent. If Watkins is a bust, it'll be mahomes' fault.
The comment in the article is a perfect example of this hypocritical bullshit. He rails on the signing, then claims we surrounded mahomes with the talent Alex Smith never had. Alex had a pro bowl tight end, rb, and wr (tyreek should have been there as a WR). So which is it? Was it a terrible signing or did we not surround Alex Smith with talent? |
