I think your proposition was given consideration by the members of this site, evaluated, and ruled upon providing multiple concrete reasons why it might not be the best route going forward...

He's too valuable, kickoff returns yield minimal results due to rule changes, and we have a competent player filling that role (which I believe is his singular major contribution to the team, hence less valuable)

But yeah, we're all idiots

Except that he'd field the ball 5 yards deep and then try to return it, and probably he'd have a disaster because he's trying to make something happen. Hell, it's happened to him this year on punt returns. He's proven to be a top receiver, there's no need for him to return kicks at all.

I would think with our offense we should take the ball on the 25 every time. Trying to run out kicks late cost us vs. both the Rams and the Chargers. Let Patty Flakes do his thing.

It’s strange that everybody is in agreement that this is a terrible idea, but Tremon Smith was only memtiomed twice.

The rookie is already one of the better returners in the league.

That has a lot more to do with the rule changes than Knile Davis.

Smith is a better returener than Davis was.

I counted 8 references to Smith. I do agree though the has been really good. 2nd fastest on the team according to Andy. Happens to all returners but he certainly has had some good returns called back as well.
