Food and Drink Cold Brew Coffee. - Page 4

Recently I was perusing the coffee snob thread and came across the cold brew coffee conversation. I decided to try some. It's fantastic!!!

I like coffee. But I can't handle anything hot in the summer. I talked about it with Silock when he was pounding the coffee on a cut diet and he said drinking hot coffee in the summer should help the body handle the heat, physiologically. Despite all that I can't do it. I just seem to be hot and miserable all day.

It takes a little planning to make happen but if you like coffee make it. You'll thank me later. It even makes Folgers taste good!

NewPhin and FMB need to get in here so I can rep them for motivating me to make it.

I work with some hard core coffee drinkers who when we go out of town they pack beans a hand held coffee grinder and aeropress. I will admit they make good coffee but they got on the butter in the coffee thingy said it gave the more energy and felt more alert. I think it's bs though as every time I've worked with them they are pretty much dead weight. I do know one was put on chloresterol and blood pressure meds recently and told to watch salt and saturated fats. All I could think of is this bullet proof coffee may kill this kid who is on the short side of 30.

I digress:

That's an outdated theory on heart disease anyway. It's inflammation and sugar more. There are also good fats and bad fats but the rest of the diet matters too.

Yes I know I read this to but like anything in the medical field it's constant change. One day it's bad next it's OK soon it will be bad again. My Doc tells me eat what you like in moderation. Eat all the vegetables you like but meat potatoes starches make a fist and don't eat a portion bigger than it. Never never ever drink your vitamins chew them.

Bulletproof Coffee is a ripoff. Its claims are outrageous and unsupported by science.

If you want to put butter in your coffee, fine. Go for it. Just be careful with how much you put in there. It's completely unnecessary, though.

Who cares! It's only promising energy. Pretty easy to test for yourself. So, I will ask to see if others felt more energy afterwards, then go by what people who tried say it makes them feel—and how it tastes. After that, I will try to see for myself.

I'm talking about the BRAND of coffee, not the "butter in your coffee" movement.

I mean, of course butter in your coffee tastes fine. People put cream in coffee, and butter is just cream in a different form. As for the energy thing, well, that's totally subjective. The mind is a powerful thing. If you think it will give you more energy, it probably will. Which is fine.

Cold coffee is just an oxymoron to me. Cold coffee just doesn't make sense but I get the Starbucks sophisticated snobbery of it all.

Ice coffee ???? doesn't make sense. George Carlin would agree

George Carlin also believes you shouldn't shower all that often, and when you do it should be hands, armpits, and asshole.
