I can make amazing burgers at home so really, anything more than $10 dollars for a combo is silly. I don't mind spending that at Original Tommy's, Fatburger or Astro Burger on occasion but I wouldn't spend it at Wendy's, Carl's or Jack.
Also, I think it also has something to do with Cal beef, as even the "high end" burgers are blah and are never seasoned properly, if at all. The same thing happens when we go to other people's house for cookouts. Everyone here cooks with the lid open and ZERO seasoning. At that point, it's just bland meat. Blech. |

I pretty much top out at $12 for a burger. We make 2 trips a year to our dentist in Brookside and afterwards, head off to Michael Forbes for the Brookside Burger w/cheese. Their potato chips are awesome.

Chain is too strong a word for Foster's but they have 15 total locations in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Florida.

I want to like buffalo burgers because they're lower fat, but I swear that they never seem as juicy as a beef burger. They don't taste as good as beef to me.

This is a difficult poll to answer for me, as I can't recall the last time I ordered both a drink and fries with a burger. I don't mind occasionally paying as much as $15 for a burger (alone) assuming it lives up to the price, though (which I actually did last weekend). However, it'd better be a damn fantastic burger (which it was).

I rarely eat burgers out any more though. Ever since FMB got me to cook burgers in the cast iron at home, they are better than most evert restaurant burger out there. It's amazing what cast iron can do for burger taste.
