He did it against a prevent defense.

If he sucks for 58 minutes against an NFL quality opponent, that last 2 minutes is just Matt Cassel garbage time.

Horseshit. That stadium is the toughest place to play in - in the USA. Especially at night when the cajuns have been drinking since 9:00 A.M. The TD came from an excellent blitz read by McCarron. Don't try and minimize it Geno ball sucker.

I'm not saying we should take McCarron #1 but, I am saying Geno doesn't do that kind of thing. He hasn't shown he has it in him. How many NFL games come down to the end?

Prevent is prevent, dumbass. Just because Les Miles is a reerun doesn't mean McCarron was brilliant against all odds last night.

I am not going to spend a top 10 pick on a mediocre game manager.

That is McCarron's ceiling.

No it isn't. Only a dumbass would say that, milkman.

Maybe he is a game manager but he did something Geno and most of the others have not. Also, did you watch Tannehill on the final drive of that Indy game yesterday? He was terrible on that drive. The difference in that game yesterday was that Luck was "clutch" and Tannehill was not. This is exactly why I prayed we wouldn't draft Tannehill. He never stepped up in college in those big games and big moments. Does that sound familiar? So many NFL games come down to the end. We better get a QB who can close the deal or we are spinning our wheels.

Furthermore, how do you know you aren't going to spend a first round pick on a game manager? You say you look for pocket awareness and accuracy but, don't the majority of first round quarterbacks have those qualities? There is only a 30% chance a first round QB will be successful. We need someone with more than those two characteristics because it's about alot more than that.

I was never trying to say that we should take McCarron in the first. I'm just saying what he did is what I am looking for the most in quarterbacks. Guys like Russell Wilson, Joe Montana, and Tom Brady did the same thing in college. It is what matters the most. It's about making the play when it has to be made. It's about taking the team on your shoulders.

If your QB can't do this, you aren't going far in the NFL. If we take a first round QB, he better be able to do this imo.

McCarron will be a good late 1st to mid 2nd round pick. If we are morons and take an OL with our top 3 pick, I'd take AJ later

That was McCarron's first bad game of the season (and yeah, it was BAD). It's why in the other thread about him I said he was still a 3rd round guy despite playing like a superstar this season...I was worried that the carriage would turn into a pumpkin. It did last night.

He's still a guy with lots of NFL upside. We'll see if this is his only poor game of the season.

I'd take him in the 3rd. After drafting a QB #1. I might find a QB worthy of the top pick in the 2nd, too. Hell, maybe the 4th.

In his worst game of the season, he completed over half of his passes with a game winning touchdown and no INTs on the road against the best defense in the country (other than his own).

He did look right in the last two minutes. He looked very, very wrong in the other 58.

He played the best defense in the country at night on the road in the most difficult venue in the country. They led the e tire game, and he did what was asked of him. When the Tigers started scoring and took the lead, he marched down the field and won the game.

Against LSU, if you don't throw 2-3 INTs, you haven't had a terrible game.

Every NFL defense is better than LSU's. McCarron must improve.

He will go in the first round. I wouldn't draft him there, but he'll go there.
