RUMOR - Bob Dylan replaces Beyoncé as Super Bowl halftime performer, or so says Tim H
http://www.avclub.com/articles/bob-d...line%3Adefault
By Marah Eakin January 30, 2013 Bob Dylan has replaced Beyoncé as the Super Bowl halftime performer—or at least Tim Heidecker says he has. According to the ex-Rolling Stone editor and Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! star, the folk warbler has replaced the pop star after her inauguration lip synching scandal left the country—and sponsor Pepsi—so shocked and saddened that the only cure was a notoriously eccentric 71-year-old. Reminding the world that nothing screams contact sports like an old man in a floppy bow tie, Dylan even (supposedly) dropped a new single around the announcement. “Running Out The Clock” was (allegedly) recorded around the time of Dylan’s Infidels album in 1983, but hasn’t been released until now. Thank heaven the singer had this song chock full of football metaphors just sitting around, gathering dust on an archives shelf somewhere. Here’s hoping he’s got a bunch of old dance moves in storage, too. |

Agreed. It's gonna suck either way. Why not get someone who rocks for once? Get ****in Metallica or Maiden or Judas Priest. Something. Or if thats too much for them, how about Roger Waters or somethin

At least it's something different, I'm tired of these geriatric bands getting up on stage year after year. You want to get a band, get Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, get a band that can actually connect with today's audience instead of bore them to death. The only halftime show that was worth a damn of recent memory was Bruce Springsteen. Before that I can't even remember the last one I enjoyed.

Furthermore, it's a near impossibility that a stage with ****ing 400 cables can be wheeled out at a venue with everything working perfectly. If there's an audio delay of 5ms, everyone in TV land can hear it. That's why the Super Bowl is canned and has been, even back to Tom Petty. If you want to have a fully live band, like on concert series or 12.12.12, the band has to be at a completely different venue. Period. |

I saw RHCP in Sprint Center last year, trust me, they kick ass without Frusciante. At least I'm throwing out ideas, not just relying on old farts who nobody wants to see.
