Bill Snyder was 69 when he returned to K-State

Who would have thought that a 69 year old coach could come out of retirement and immediately rebuild his former team back to their former glory days? I know I didn't think he could do it.

What Bill Snyder did at K-State was amazing when he was originally hired back in 1989, and it's equally amazing that he could duplicate that success when he came back in 2009. He never won the national championship, but I think the K-State fans are pretty happy he came back to try again.

Someone else is 69 right now.

Just sayin.

I blame that damn Tanner's waitress who seduced him. She didn't just **** Marty. She ****ed every Chiefs fan.

Oh, and K-State would crush your beloved Huskers if they played them. Luckily for the Huskers they ran away from the Big 12.
I would rather finish last get a good QB and hire a coach who can win a super bowl.

Probably. Nebraska isn't any good this year but Snyder's record overall against Nebraska is horrible.

I loved Marty.

I grew up with Marty.

I'd never known another coach for my entire formative years.

He is, by far, the best HC we've had in 30 years. Until the day I die he will probably be my favorite at heart.

That said he wasn't THE coach. He didn't get us there. We wanted enough for him and Lamar to go to hire someone to take us to the next level.

Instead we got clowns. Clowns with huge shoes who took everything that was good about Arrowhead and ruined it while saying "but we're good people and we're trying REALLY hard."

We can't bring back Marty any more than I can make your HS girlfriend love you again...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Well, you've undoubtedly never heard stories about high school sweethearts that went their separate ways only to meet again years later and ended up marrying and finding everything they ever wanted...

Seriously, though, I am old enough to have rooted for the Chiefs in Super Bowl IV. It seemed like almost immediately they went from the outhouse to the penthouse. I remember all too well the late 70's, the 1980's, all those years of having my heart ripped out Sunday after Sunday, of being humiliated to even admit I was a Chiefs fan (especially down here in Dolphin territory).

Dammit, Marty restored my faith, and I still refuse to lay blame for all those playoff failures on him. If I really thought he was incapable of winning it all, I would never want to see the man again.

But I don't. So sue me.

Guys, I've got it figured out - Hire Marty as head coach, then have him hire Al Saunders as Offensive Coordinator and give complete control of the offensive play-calling to Al.
