With two full off seasons Dorsey has let pro bowl talent walk, did not add any pro bowl talent, and still managed to be up against the cap.

Denver also does much better in the draft than we do...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

These guys alone free up around 15m+
Get Hali and Bowe to restructure and Berry can be put on the NFI list so we'll only be paying him about 3m... We should be fine. No big splashes in FA but definitely enough to get Houston extended.

You would save five by cutting Hali, where his dead money would be $6 million

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-ci...fs/tamba-hali/

So, say you designate both as Post-June 1 cuts. You'd save around $14 million for this year, giving you about $7 million in cap room, which could probably get you Houston if you gave him a huge signing bonus and a low base salary for the first year or two. Then, he would quickly carry a massive cap number because you paid for him with the credit card.

That would also cause you to carry about $10 million in dead cap money onto 2016.

Cut Daniel, Fasano, Avery, and put Berry on the NFI. That gives you 13-15 million. Now, you have to replace multiple players in the secondary, get a backup TE, bring in another QB in all likelihood (because Bray and Murray...LOL).

But hey, maybe we can afford to bring in a Maclin type, let's---oh wait.

Rodney Hudson needs to get paid, too, 4/5 of our starting OL ****ing sucks, and they will need to find, at minimum, two new starters for that unit too.

Hali's dead money is 2.9 million, not 6 million. Situation is not as dire as all that.

They're not bringing in another QB. They have five QB on the roster as it is. Whoever the backup is going to be, he's likely already here.

You can also restructure Derrick Johnson, given that he has no dead money and a $5M cap hit.

Also, the cap is going up. We could do nothing and still be under, because the cap is going to inflate thanks to TV money.

Also, that website factors in the draft picks, which will be used to replace some of those players.

This is DJs contract year so you can't restructure his contract.

You can extend him and convert his salary to bonus, stretching it over the life of his contract. It's either that or he won't be a chief this year.

Who was the pro bowl talent that Dorsey let go? The injured Glenn Dorsey or the injured Brandon Albert?

It amazes me that no one else seems to see how $#itty a job is being done.

And people forget I was a huge backer of landing the guy. I thought for sure his hire (more than Reid) would turn this team around...

2 years isn't nearly enough time to evaluate a GM.
