Tony Romo rumor

Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

What do you guys think

Ditto.

Maybe something like a 2017 4th and a 4th in 2018 that becomes a third if Romo plays 14 games in 2017.

Right now our best bet is that Chiefs draft a QBotf in one to three rounds and shows up Alex Smith in preseason to the point that once the season starts and Alex Smith blunders Andy Reid and Dorsey have no choice to put the rookie in for the rest of the season and go from there.

This is not an unlikely scenario because I've seen it happen in the NFL all the time.

Andy Reid maybe the last person to recognize it but he wont be able to ignore the boo's from Arrowhead if he keeps trotting out 3 and outs and punts on Sundays. It may take the SOC banners and SOB in the stands but it got Clarks attention.

I predict with Alex Starting the season but the QBotf we draft would be starting by bye week.

They aren't drafting a QB, or at least not one that will do anything more than be a 2nd or 3rd stringer.

The bottom line is that Alex is the guy you want to marry your sister because he's cautious and safe and Tony Romo is the guy whose sister you want to marry because she's hot and he is a swashbuckler and would be a cool brother in law.

You guys appear to be looking at this as many Broncos' fans viewed the Tebow offseason when Manning became available.

There really isn't a viable option (one that is younger and proven), so it's Romo or bust at this point. The kicker is how do you get out from under Alex's contract without killing your cap?

Can you really trade him? If so, to which team and what will you get in return?

If you do move him and find a way to get Romo, you MUST get a younger QB to groom. Foles? He's a guy, a journeyman and in this QB starved league, if he were worth a damn, he'd be starting somewhere already.

Either way --- KC has to get serious about the young QB, and that's in the draft. Unless, you go for a guy like Tyrod Taylor. Who knows if he has a higher ceiling than what he showed in Buffalo.

I don't know what's really wrong with him to be honest, and if I'm a KC fan... hell, I might prefer to go that route as opposed to Romo. Why not?

Romo offers absolutely zero guarantee of greater success with a much smaller window of achieving it and a much greater injury concern.

Many mock the two guys that Denver has, but Trevor proved to be every bit as productive as someone like Alex Smith. The jury is out on Lynch, but you can't honestly tell me those guys are worse than what KC has or worse off than guys like Taylor, Bortles...

Hell, if I'm KC, I think I'd rather take a chance on Cutler over Romo. Are they really that much different, other than the attitude department? Both are risky gunslingers.

Just scroll through here and see where the better QBs are drafted every year...

This idea of Romo simply isn't based in reality. He's been one of the most efficient QBs in the league since he arrived. He's also way better than Cutler (except older and broken down).

I took this just before halftime of the Bears/Chiefs week 3 preseason game. Cutler had played the entire half.

Unfortunately, neither Romo nor a QB prospect are in the cards for KC this year. Continue stroking if you must, but both Reid and Dorsey have made it clear that they intend to continue stealing fans time and money by fielding the inferior QB product from Utah/SF.
