I don't know about Murray

I think if we add a good WR and keep building the OL we'll be okay. Kelce and Davis are good pieces who look to be the future.

Gotta get the QB though.

Yeah, I know that probably sounds crazy, but I think 26 year old Travis Kelce is more likely to be the big time receiving threat at TE moving forward than 31 year old Vernon Davis.
they're completely different players, assuming Fasano is gone are we really going to rely on Kelce in base personnel and then... Harris in 2TE sets when 12 and 13 personnel was one of the more successful formations in the offense? Kelce can catch all the cute screens and drag routes underneath all day like he did this year whereas Davis will devastate DEs in the run game while taking the top off the defense down the post or out of a wheel route. I know for sure this isn't happening anyway but it would be nice to have another TE of this mold that is more of a route runner/intermediate threat

You are so far behind the curve when it comes to $, risk, and drafting a QB that its like talking to a sales guy at Best Buy on the virtues of Beta Max vs VHS.

Its not a risk aversion situation at this point, its an availability issue. Period.

It's not so much about availability as it is willingness to take a risk to improve the team long term.

My hope is that Philly might want to move Nick Foles.

No its not. When we traded for Smith there were literally 2 real options. Him or Geno.

Trading 2 2nds for Smith wasn't a risk? The $ we have paid him isn't a risk?

Right, no risk involved here guys, nothing to see.

You know what wouldn't have been a risk? Picking up a guy for nothing for a season.

Bitch about bad decisions all you want, risk was not the issue.

Right, the guy who jumped on a plane to hire Andy Reid as soon as he could was under the belief he should hire him while handcuffing his QB decisions.

And Reid was fine with it, along with Dorsey. Its an amazing conspiracy against Chief's fans.

I would like you to detail how Kelce is "less of a route runner" than Davis and is also not an intermediate threat.

Bonus points if you can elaborate on the finer points of running routes. I'd also be exceptionally appreciative if you could be specific.

Davis isn't going anywhere. Baalke has come out and said it. He's not a FA until next year.

LOL at Kelce being less of a intermediate threat than Davis. If anything, his height and hands makes him more of one. As far as route running, Davis is a solid route runner, but let's be honest his speed makes up for any flaws in his routes.

Now if he could get those fumbles under control.

Actually, Milkman, I think this thread has covered just about everything/anything to do with the Chiefs. Things covered have included: Avery/Jenkins (for about 10 seconds), then Reid, Dorsey, AS (of course), WRs, TEs, etc, etc, etc.

It's becoming the Ultra-Thread!

Heck, I'm just about ready to toss in a little special teams action for spice!

In sum, Chiefs aficionados discussing their team on a couple of cold winter nights!

Sit back, enjoy!!!
