Well, I'm going to step in and kind of introduce myself. When I was 10 years old, growing up here in AZ and not really having any sports teams (except Suns) I started following certain teams. Being 10 in 1970 I decided I liked the Chiefs, the Orioles, and the Knicks (yeah, frontrunner little sh*t).
I've followed the Orioles faithfully until Ripken retired...and then retired my interest. I lost my desire to follow the game...it's changed a lot...and in all honesty the Orioles not being competitive didn't help. That being said, I don't deserve any of the kudos you true O's fans deserve for following this team like I assume you have. However it's been fun seeing them in the hunt and to see the loyal fans rewarded for sticking by this team is great. By the way...love it they brought back the Oriole Bird...hope they keep it for a long time. Here's to hoping the Chiefs can get things figured out like the O's...and the O's continue winning...especially against those damn Yanks. Good luck guys. |

...but I do admit, I've been following the O's in the paper again and reading your guys comments here in the repository. Brings back great memories. Last night my wife pulled an old long sleeve shirt out of the closet (she's always cold) and it was the 1983 Orioles Championship pullover I'd bought here almost 30 years ago...no moth holes...looked brand new...forgot she had it...and she didn't even know I'd been paying attention to the O's again... ...I told here maybe it was a sign... |

#Orioles really bad news. RT / @richardjustice: Nick Markakis broken bone in thumb. Gone around six weeks pending more exam. I wanna cry |

That's rough on Markakis. After going through the rough times, feel bad for the guy, even as a Yankees fan. Sweet call to end the game. Shit happens. Maybe if Tex isn't hurt he runs through the bag. I hate when guys slide. You slow down and make the ump guess. Umps are waiting for sound and when you take away things are gonna happen.

I wouldn't give it back if the situation was reversed either. No question from the SS view you can see it wasn't close. Like I said, when you slide head-first, you make it harder on the ump. I am not gonna get on Tex though. He always goes all out. Also, along the lines of what you said, if Tex stretching for first pulled his groin again it wouldn't have been worth it.
