Matt Cassel played one of the easiest schedules in NFL history. I'm pretty sure Brodie Croyle could have gotten us 8 wins that year.

Additionally, Detroit was still trying to secure a higher seed, which is why they played their starters.

Honestly I could give a **** about Flynn, but I'd rather have a young QB that makes the best of his opportunity than a broke dick in Alex Smith.

Lol Cassel had a sweet gig. Hand the ball off to Charles and use the play action against the worst pass defenses in the league

Suuuuure. A certain other QB who I won't name has played that same easy schedule for his whole career and never had a year like that. Never even came close.

Brodie Croyle couldn't throw a screen pass less that 70mph.

As did his wife.
Lucky guy. Got to walk away from the NFL having made millions and has the best consolation prize of all time. |

I admit I fell right into the Croyle trap. I thought we could have him sit for a year or two and put on some muscle.
It was that rifle arm. Dude threw a crazy good ball with excellent zip and velocity.

And I'd rather roll the dice on another prospect like Croyle (Geno, who's WAAAAY better) than waste time on Alex Smith.

When Croyle should have been working like a ****ing madman to claim the starting QB spot in 2007, he was instead dicking around with this ****ing wedding. Sure, he could have kept it small and manageable, but from his interviews, it sounded like a huge ****ing shitshow that required not only the bride to work hard but also the groom to slave away.
I don't even know why the **** he entered the NFL. A team gave him a chance to be the starting QB and he completely said, "Don't really care." |
