Yeah, and they were bad last year because they were bad, not because the offense turned the ball over 37 TIMES, usually leaving the defense to have to play the short field.

yeah.......Having a qb that wont turn the ball over, and relying on your All world punter, is a TERRIBLE THING. You are so right. To hell with Colquitt, just CHUCK IT DEEP ALEX.....

They were bad last year due to coaching. Plain and simple.

If you were actually a KC fan, and not a AS tagalong, you'd already know this.

People have been crowing about the talent on defense for two years.

Yes. If your philosophy is going to be to shoot it out with them.

That's why the 49ers defense gave up more points after Kaep took over, that's why the Chiefs defense is so much better now. The lack of the big play, the prolonged drives, the not turning the ball over. Its all a product of Alex Smiths dinking and dunking that everyone hates.

Shrugs. But, it seems to be working.

Btw. no one is saying that the offense doesn't need to improve. It does. It should always be a work in progress. I guess maybe that is what the anti alex crowd assumes, that people who can respect what alex has done, say well, that's as good as it gets. That's not at all how I feel at least.

I have known that.

Oh really?

Only KC FANS?

Then why all offseason did people spend time telling me that Alex Smith didn't have an elite defense and run game to rely on?

I really don't make this shit up.

I know you have talent. I also know how good Sean Smith was going to be on this team, and MIKE DEVITO despite every PFF article that Clay could find to discredit them.

Im well aware what coaching does. Something that conveniently enough, people such as yourself, never considered that Alex Smith didn't have before Jim Harbaugh......

Funny HOW THAT WORKS.

I did the math yesterday, and IIRC, we're closer to 17 PPG from the offense.
I apologize, it's 19 PPG.

We're getting 40% of our scoring from our kicker and out defense.

Even the most hardcore homer must realize that those numbers are not sustainable, and that the offense must score more TD's.

Did you not hear what Andy Reid said? What Alex Smith said?

They both said the same thing.

But alas. Offensive line working together to gel, getting back Fasano, and Kelce will help both of those things, don't you think?

If the OL was truly horrible, we wouldn't be running the ball worth a shit in the 4th quarter either.

yeah, the fact that the giants didn't cross mid field in the second half until Kyle Williams had that ball go off his knee, the 49ers were winning 14-10, and then after the Giants went up 17-14, Alex led the team down for the fg to go to over time, and it was a Kyle Williams fumble on the punt return that put the Giants in position to kick the game winning fg.

I mean, how dare ANYONE say anything about KYLE WILLIAMS.

Alex Smiths fault......

I think Fisher has played poorly. But overall, it's nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be, just like it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be with Cassel.

When you're indecisive/don't make quick decisions/get the ball out quickly, the OL is going to look bad.

Especially to people that don't know WTF they are watching, which is a good chunk of this board.

You would know. You lead that list of people who don't know what they are Watching.

the announcers said it over and over against the eagles how great the coverage was down the field by the eagles.

McGrath? Brock? Shot gun most of the time? 29 pass plays to 9 runs in the first half?

Alex, SMITH.

If Anthony Fasano and a 3rd round rookie is the problem with this offense, we have bigger issues than AS or the OL.

OL "gelling" might be your worst excuse yet.

There's one new lineman.

You act as if we brought in 5 new guys in late August.
