You can sign a cheap stopgap like Wisnewski

You still have 10 picks in later rounds to land multiple OL, which I think they should do regardless. That gets you a not great but much improved OL, with lots of young options to make this even better

I will NOT be one bit happy if 2 of Dorsey/Reid's 3 first round picks end up being OL.
If we get a good receiver in the second, then I'm cool with it.

Then I'd be okay with it. Keep in mind we should have two third rounders this year.

I think an offseason where we lock up Houston long term, resign Hali at a discount, and add:

Maclin
2nd round pass catcher (jaelen strong? Phillip dorsett? devin smith?)
OG
RT

in the first 100 picks with another 6 picks to go in the draft is pretty damn good.

Honestly Maclin is the perfect WR for Smith. He is a shifty route runner, gets separation, can turn short passes into big gains.

I predict a 75rec 1100 8TD season by Maclin

Then grab Devin Smith who I believe is a Maclin or Antonio Brown clone.
You guys would be set

Gonna go out on a limb and say, YES. Actually whatever pace Maclin is on throughout the season will probably cause it to be revisited sooner.

that doesn't even make any sense, Maclin is a 6 year veteran and only has a SINGLE 1k season so far.

IMHO I'm not thrilled about this pickup. He's a good player but for the money he commands, his style isn't what this offense needs. We already have plenty of "manufacture to get open in space" type of guys like Kelce and DAT.. they needed to get a true #1 who can run routes and beat man coverage. SMH if they pass on a receiver (AGAIN) during the draft

Big, if true. I'm still scorched from the Emmanuel Sanders drama, so I'll wait to get really excited until he signs his name on the contract.

I will say this in Dorsey/Reid's defense: last year, they were in on Sanders and this year it's Maclin. At least they go after top WR's. Hopefully now we can DRAFT one too.

Hmm, I'd say Carlos Carson.

Otis is a stretch, IMO.

That said, how cool would it be to have Carlos Carson, Henry Marshall, DAT, Wilson, Maclin, Kelce & Charles?

1 year missed due to injury, another he was on pace for 1,000 yards but missed three games. So injury history is a factor. But still, he is coming of 1,300/10, and he's 26. If he stays healthy this year, playing the go-to position in an offense he grew up in, then 1,000 yards should be an expectation.

Actually its more to do with Reid than Smith. Can Reid actually coach his hand picked qb to throw the ball down field. Can Reid adjust his horizontal offense to feature a WR.

Excuse and patience is running thin for that fat ****.

This offense needs a vertical threat. Kelce and DAT are more dangerous horizontally than vertically. More catch and run guys. Maclin gives you pure straight line speed. I would like to have the #1 receiver you're talking about, which bumps Maclin to #2 and Wilson to the slot, with DAT as your utility guy. That would be a really dangerous receiving corps if you couple that with Kelce.

This is a nice pickup for the Chiefs.

DeSean Jackson and Maclin caught plenty of long balls in Philly with his TE's cover the middle.

I'm pretty sure we're going to see a different offense in 2015 with Maclin, Kelce and two sub 4.4 guys in the slot with DAT and Wilson.

They still need another TE and WR opposite Maclin but if they can make that happen, look out.

that's a lot of excuses for someone you're arguing should be an automatic 1k year, also note that he's never had a 1k year with Reid

Albert Wilson. Not saying he's as good a player but for a #2/deep threat/decoy guy he played that role just fine and for the money you'd still be fine getting a couple of studs in the draft and putting it to use for plugging in other holes in FA, now the fear is that they'll just hang their hats on Maclin and get a couple of fatties
