The scary thing about him is that a lot of his value is tied up in defense, which we just don't have a good handle on yet in the sabermetric community.

I'm all on board with signing him, but thats just the emotional part of me pushing it over logical objections I may have had. Omaha guy, loyal to the team, willing to give a hometown discount, kicking ass this year, VERY marketable, I just don't want him to go.

If he takes it, I say he will. He likes KC,close to Lincoln, a lot of Nebraska fans close by plus they are Royal fans!

If he hits FA market,he will get 5/100

5/75 was the Yadier extension. I think that's more than fair for Gordon. Reasonable team and player friendly deal.

I didn't like him for a while, but he's grown on me. He's like a big goofy kid. He says a lot of dumb shit, but his enthusiasm is infectious... and it seems genuine.

Now, if the Royals were shitty, it'd probably be a whole different deal. That'd get old real fast.

The Royals were trailing the Twins by a run in the ninth inning Tuesday night, and Kansas City manager Ned Yost was on the top step of the dugout, conferring with catching coach Pedro Grifol about the potential decisions he would have to make.

That's when Yost heard a voice pipe up.
"The bat boy who never says anything turns around and says, `Esky is going to get a hit and Gordo's taking him in the fountain," Yost said. "I said, `OK. Sounds like a pretty good plan."
Wow

As humble as Alex is, a Midwest guy, he will take that deal.

Other teams hopes he hits the FA market where he would get a 5/100 offer from somebody.
