Marcus Peters also had verbal altercation with assistant coach Sunday

http://amp.kansascity.com/sports/nfl...mpression=true

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters’ frustration following the Chiefs’ 38-31 loss to the New York Jets didn’t end immediately after the game, it appears.

According to a report by NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo, Peters also had a verbal altercation with an assistant coach on the bus during the team’s ride to airport following the game. The assistant coach was not named.

The Star reported Thursday that Peters’ suspension was related to his decision to leave the field prematurely following the flag toss. The club viewed that as a team issue, as opposed to the penalty flag toss, which it deemed a league issue that Peters was ultimately fined $24,409 for on Friday.

The NFL Network report cited Peters’ decision to leave the field as a reason for the one-game suspension coach Andy Reid levied on him earlier this week, with the verbal altercation also being a contributing factor.

The Chiefs still had a little over two minutes left to tie the game, and Peters returned to the sideline –– albeit with no socks –– as the offense made its last-gasp attempt. But the drive stalled out, and the Chiefs lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Peters’ suspension means the Oakland native will miss the Chiefs’ showdown Sunday against his hometown Raiders. He was not allowed to practice this week and will forfeit a game check.

You get your injured players back for the new season but you are about to lose roughly the equivalent.

The year before people said the defense is getting Houston back. It will help. But look, they lost Berry. The defense was worse.
Berry played the majority of the 1st game against the Pats doing a stellar job against Gronk. Do the Chiefs still win that game IF Berry does not play at all with a wide open Gronk for the whole game ?;, because you know nobody else in our 2ndary could have covered him let alone tackle him. Yes our offense was on fire BUT if Berry doesn't play at all it is a much closer game IMHO. Berry DOES make a difference for sure. IF Berry plays against the Titans do we win then ? I say YES !!

Regardless of him being a fan of PM2 right now is irrelevant. The furnace has yet to be really entered into yet. He can be a fan all he wants now but these type of immature personalities are always "First on the bandwagon and First to jump off the bandwagon" when adversity hits.

I don't want a self-absorbed immature emotional diva CB messing with my FHOF QB that will need all the support he can get these next 2yrs.

I bet you are deciphering now.

And you as an owner, GM and coach are thinking about giving this "man/child" a manure load of $$ and then trust that this $$ won't go to his head(on or off the field) when he as already shown he can't be trusted now with a below modest contract ??

Don't mean to go all spiritual here but Clark,Andy and Brett are very nervous about paying Peters IMHO as they should be, indirectly applying this wisdom from scripture that most of us apply in our everyday life(as parents, grandparents and employers) from Luke 16:10-12. Granted this verse talks about the actual monetary wealth but even more so speaks to the "handling" (character or lack thereof) when wealth is acquired.

10“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?

IF Veach gets the right deal for Peters, I say take it !! I don't trust Peters at all with a manure load of $$ that now only enables his immature ego to stay stunted and we will never see the same Peters from his first 3yrs again IMHO. Not a hater of Peters at all just a realist.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Couldn't agree more with the attention whore premise, but I will give Florio a thumbs up for at least knowing schemes and football in general...

A team not 400 miles to the south tried a similar strategy of trading a superstar player on a rookie contract all in the name of supposedly being cap-wise when he needed a new deal.

The James Harden trade continues to **** OKC in the ass. They became a worse team the year that happened, all under the false notion that no team can afford 3 superstar contracts.

Yes, the NBA is far different from the NFL, but that's essentially the logic some people are using in this thread of why it might be smart to trade Peters. You use draft picks to acquire talent. When you hit on that talent, you keep those players. You don't trade them for the opportunity to acquire more talent that you don't have to pay until their rookie deals run out.

If Peters is that much of a pain in the ass and Reid/Veach don't want him around the team anymore, then fine. They know more about the situation than I do. But don't just trade a guy just because you'll have to pay him one day.

Peters is a giant pain in the ass but as of now he adds more than he detracts. He's a once every 5 years kind of CB with excellent natural instincts and creates turnovers. He's a very poor man's Prime Time...
