The Mets may have the worst collection of position players I've ever seen in the World Series. Seriously...they can't hit, and they can't field.

That's pretty much what I got out of it. If it hadn't been for some great starting pitching and Murphey going all-world for a few games we are probably playing the Cubs or Dodgers.

We faced their best starters and their best closer and knocked them all around. Harvey had a great 2nd game I will give him credit but he wasn't Cueto...

Well, they had quite a challenge beating a team throwing Kershaw + Zack 4x in a short series, and they annihilated the Cubs, never trailing once. Mets were a very good team esp after the ASB.

The Dodgers have been choke artists the last 2 years and the Cubs were just happy to be there.

My favorite part is that the royals jizzed on their back, tossed a championship hand towel to them ,told them to clean up and get out....and will text the. To come back over on opening day to watch the ring presented.....and they'll leave KC with the same dick taste in their mouth.

Randomly ask one of them to name a player from their 2010 roster not named Grienke or Gordon. They wont be able to.
They could probably list off the O-Line for the Chiefs that year though.

Mets position players I'd want starting on the Royals:

Curtis Granderson

...

That's it.

If anything, the Mets were "gifted" the World Series.

Chase Utley and the Dodgers meltdown, the Cards shit the bed after 100 wins, the Pirates lose to the Cubs, then fall apart in the NLCS.

A case can easily be made that the Mets were the worst team in the field, behind the NL teams as well as the Astros and Jays.

And I know I'm spoiled due to the Royals excellent defense, hitting and bullpen but good grief, the Mets were just an awful team.

Had Ned not made a mistake Friday night, it would have been a sweep.

Don't know if this has been brought up but we finally got revenge for that shitty David Cone for Ed Hearn trade back in the day. Better late than never. Amirite!

I stayed up til 8 AM listening to NY sports talk radio. The butthurt was so entertaining, I just couldn't stop listening.

I'd say a solid 90% of the Mets fans couldn't even admit the Royals were a good team. They couldn't admit they got exposed. Most of them thought KC was just a bunch of lucky scrubs and had no business being in the World Series.

Before the Royals crushed their souls, they all wanted to re-sign Murphy and Cespedes. Now most of them don't want either one coming back.

Its gonna be fun to hear them cry for the next few months!
