Even if he wasn't 2nd round talent I see more upside in Lockett than I do with Conley, but we will see. We won't know who's better until about 3 years from now. I think Lockett will have the better career. Strong is going to be a nice player to have. I like this guy a lot. I hope I am wrong about Conley though. I did some research on him and he has potential to be a great player. I don't hate the Conley pick, just think Mitch Morse was a waste of a 2nd rounder when we could have drafted Strong.

Strong sucks. Do you even watch these players or just latch on to popular names?

Inmem is probably one of the posters who wanted 7th round Tre McBride in the 2nd or 3rd....

Hey, just because you haven't yet doesn't mean you wouldn't have.

You bitch about everything so I'm pretty comfortable stating that you'd have bled all over the board about that as well.

Mostly you just bitch. Constantly. About all things real and perceived. You had to call Tyler Lockett a first round pick to bitch about us NOT taking him so I'm fairly certain you'd have found a way to bitch had we actually taken him.

the weakest link on our team was our O line and our WRs....maybe still is....so using a 2nd and 3rd round pick on those positions i have no issue with at all. In fact i was happy. Great CB talent in rd #1 and then a lineman and a wr is probably the smartest thing we could have done. Then draft 2 ILBs pretty damn good draft to compliment our weaknesses i would say.

As far as who is better Lockett, Strong or Conley......after researching it further i would actually say Conley. Strong is already being criticized for showing up to camp out of shape by the head coach (thats a really bad sign) and Lockett while really good doesn't have the physical measurables of Conley. Conley has bigger upside for sure. Morse isn't a flashy pick and may not have NFL Tackle length arms but take a close look at his feet....SUPER athletic. Time will tell of course but i think this may have been Dorsey's best draft yet.

Take a good look at this guy. 6'3" 220 lbs WR who runs a 4.3 40, has a 45 inch vertical, a 11.7 inch broad jump, grabs balls with one hand in games and can run after the catch. I'm very excited to see what this guy can do actually. Maclin will draw the most attention so Conley will get an opportunity. Now we have 2 red zone targets in him and Kelce...we wouldn't have had that with Lockett.

" at 6-2, 213-pounds he's right where NFL teams like to see their receivers. He was timed at 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and hit an outstanding 45 inches in the vertical leap and 11-feet, 7 inches in broad jump. Those were the best marks by a wide receiver at the Combine since at least 2006."

Why was this kid around in the 3rd?

Two answers to that question

1. This was one of the best/deepest WR classes ever

2. Production. Didn't put up huge numbers in college due to multiple factors.

Not a ton of production at UGa. 1300 yards and 8 TDs in his 2 seasons starting. Looks like Georgia sans Murray passed a lot less.

And again, I don't love his feet. He does seem to pull quickly out of his breaks but he's not very precise into them, it leads to rounded routes and probably leaves him a little out of position towards the end of the route.

In a timing/rhythm offense, he'll definitely need to sharpen that up to be effective, otherwise he'll end up about a step behind where the throw is and with the number of routes he'll run over the middle, rounding a route and being a step behind is going to be a pick a lot of the time.

The tools seem to be there, but we can't overlook some of the flaws. I absolutely love the pick but my expectations for him this year will remain fairly conservative. Reid won't unleash him if he can't run sharper, more predictable routes.
