Yeah, I'm sure Gamecock fans would trade Spurrier and their sustained run of success the last few years for one random fluke BCS bowl bid that was only gained because of back door handshakes and promises, with the understanding that their football program would be absolute garbage both before said BCS bowl bid and immediately after. With the further qualification that there football program would be a running joke and regular fodder for the talking heads during said college football season on an annual basis.

5-10 years from now after the college football playoff has been in place for a while, nobody will remember or care that a basketball school once upon a time, long ago in a galaxy far far away made a BCS bowl.

Your football program has been a national joke since that magical run, rather than your coach and university taking advantage of it and using it as a springboard to something bigger.

Way to shit the bed on that one. The University did itself proud there.

I always thought he was a pretty good coach. The pussification of kansas happened and he was seen as too mean to the kids. They have been irrelevant ever since. Iowa State is beating NDSU 14-7 right now. We will see if they can hold on. I'm certain he will skull **** the jayhawks this year and love every minute of it
