The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

Triumph? Haven't heard much about those, what do you think of them compared to other options?

Looking online, I love the look of the Triumph thunderbird, and the RocketIII as well, although for that one I'm not crazy about the 3 exhaust pipes coming out of the engine up high, would have to get more looks at that. How are they priced compared to HD?

Well it depends on the type of Motorcycling you do.
I was in the Adventure Motorcycling market. So I tested the BMW's, KTMS, Suzukis, Kawasaki's (KLR) etc..
When I tested the Triumph Tiger 800 XC I was sold. Love the Tripple motor and the way it handled. But of course I like British bikes. I am currently on the hunt for an older Bonnie that I can restore.

Heh, back in the ‘90’s I had a friend that would park his 600R Ninja in his living room right in front of the TV and we’d play Road Rash from the seat of it.

I used to use Honda Polish for a multitude of tasks.
worked well for small stuff, in a pinch etc. Hell, I used to polish my wife's glasses when they'd get small scratches in them
