I know a Jayhawk fan who said the same thing about losing to Missouri.

I tend to agree with you but damn the excitement leading up to such a match-up.One thing's for sure, either I or my mrs would be taking a seperation vacation afterwards.

I think most KU and MU fans, if they were being honest with themselves, would all say the same thing.

"If going to the Final 4 means I'd lose to those assholes, count me out..."

Especially after the bad blood of this season.

If going to the Final 4 meant that we lost to Kansas, who would then go on to win the Championship, whereas losing in the Sweet 16 meant that KU lost to St. Mary's, would you still want the Final 4?

Good lord, man - the losing to Kansas would almost definitely take all the starch out of making it there, wouldn't it? And once they won the title on top of that, it would just be pissing all over our bowl of soggy cornflakes wouldn't it?

Honestly - I think I'd rather just not make the Final 4 than to go to it and lose to Kansas. The hell would never end.
As a KU guy who’s wife and many friends are MU fans, I certainly understand the quandary. The fact there is some permanency to this season makes it worse. The fact that MU won the Big 12 tournament bothers me not at all. Had we lost it to MU in the final game It would have been quite annoying.

I dunno, Mizzou losing early really doesn't do much for me, and isn't really a consolation for not making it to the Final Four (not that I expect KU to make it that far).... "well at least Mizzou lost early, too!" Meh. They could make it to the Final Four for all I care. If KU makes it to the SS or EE, and Mizzou doesn't get as far, I'm not going to hang my hat on getting a round or two further.

But, getting all the way to the NC game just to lose to Mizzou... yeah, that's definitely not cool, especially since MU won "the most important football game ever" between the two schools... so, to also do it in basketball, on their way out of the Big 12... damn.

Seriously? Although the thought of losing to KU in the championship game is disgusting, I'd take the FF over a S16 loss every time.

The exposure for the program and what it could do for recruiting offsets the los, IMO.

You have to be all in to win a Championship. No matter who the opponent may be.

To answer DJ's question...give me a final four. I don't care who else is there or if Mizzou loses by 80 when they get there. Willing to take my chances.

A final four makes this Mizzou team the greatest in its history....
