***The Official MMA Thread***

Excited about an upcoming fight? Want to make predictions, or just give people a heads-up that there are some fights on? We can do it here.

(Also a good place to complain, dicuss, and agrue about the outcomes)

Its been awhile. I remember Ruddock being good but didnt remember weighing 215. Crazy how the size of HWs changed.

ufc is massively not entertaining... i'd take the greatest boxing match vs the greatest UFC match any day of the weak.

They both can be very entertaining. UFCs 155lb class has always had some great fights. The Gati/Ward trilogy were my favorite boxing matches ever.

With all due respect, why are you in this thread then?

As a huge boxing and MMA fan, I'll take a high powered UFC main event over boxing any day of the week.

Totally disagree. MMA is by far a more entertaining sport. There may be more technical striking in boxing, but MMA makes for a much more complete fight.

While I agree with your overall premise WRT: Tyson, Peter McNeeley was a complete scrub whose record was bought and paid for. That was a total sham of a fight.

There was also not any night where Alex Stewart would have beaten Tyson.

I don't know anything about MMA, so I don't know how good/bad Rousey's competition has been. To add further, Tyson cleaned that division out and ducked no one before his personal demons, with a massive assist from Don King and Robin Givens, ate him alive.

Tyrell Biggs was a legit fighter and Tyson completely ruined him. Not to mention Spinks, Tony Tubbs, Bonecrusher, Pinklon Thomas, and Tony Tucker.

Hell, for all the hate that division gets, it was the last time in history that elite American athletes were still in boxing, save for the rarest of circumstances (Floyd).

i'm not hating people for liing MMA.. not my MO.. i just personally feel boxing is more entertaining when it has a competitive fight. There takes considerable about of skill for both.. but i prefer the finesse of boxing.

I grew up on boxing. I love boxing. But it's completely dead at the moment compared to MMA. Mayweather killed any chance at its revival.
