This isn't going to fester through 2025, the ACC will likely be long dead (either literally or effectively) by then.
If Maryland can eat the ACC exit fees, Texas can eat the Big 12 fees.

Those "big 12 fees", as of right now, would be several hundred million.

Not even Texas can afford that, and thats ignoring the fact that they don't even have the desire to leave.

Those checks from ESPN are not bouncing. To the extent that UT cares about ratings at all, the TLN has been steadily gaining subscribers ever since they were picked up by AT&T Uverse.

Keep in mind that Maryland was one of the two schools that voted against the $50M+ exit fee. The ACC, I would guess, will replace Maryland with UConn.

FSU (the other school that voted against the new exit fee) is the only school that I could see leaving--but I really only think that they would leave for an SEC invite (which isn't coming). In other words, I don't think the ACC is collapsing. Long term, I think that the eastern seaboard schools (i.e., the ACC teams) hold the most promising tv markets. They just need to improve their product...

Please please please Big 12...be active this time. Poach FSU, Clemson, Miami, etc.

Being a basketball fan, would be awesome if Big 12 could get to 16 with FSU, NC State, UNC, Duke. I know it won't happen, but that would be cool

Maryland and Rutgers to B1G, followed shortly by UVA and Duke as the ACC deconstructs.

FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Miami, Louisville, BYU to Big 12 (maybe NC State if the SEC gets UNC).

UNC and Va Tech to SEC.

Cadre of Big East bottom-feeders to backfill the ACC.

Actually the Big Ten was originally too good for the Notre Dame. They didn't want the immigrant Catholic school to dirty up the league.

I don't think Duke is high on the B1G wish list. I think you're much more likely to see either a UVA-UNC or UNC-Duke package. My money is on the first, if it happens at all.

The B12 isn't looking west, so I think BYU is out, in fact, I don't know if the B12 goes beyond 12. I think you'll see FSU and one other ACC school or Louisville is no other ACCs want to jump.

I think VPI and NC St end up SEC.

they declined in 1999.
so in 2009 when the expansion thing got rolling, Paterno was very vocal about ND....he said they had their chance....**** 'em. I agree.

from an article on the subject
"In 1999, both Notre Dame and the Big Ten entered into private negotiations concerning a possible membership that would include Notre Dame. Although the Notre Dame faculty senate endorsed the idea with a near unanimous vote, the ND board of trustees decided against joining the conference and Notre Dame ultimately withdrew from negotiations."

I'd rather my boys in blue lose to OH St than those bundle of stickss.
hey...as long as your gonna get ND slammed down your goddammned throat every ****ing saturday whether they are 0-9 or 9-0....at least the bitches are winning this year. bastards.
