In this day and age its pretty stupid to not put up a demo unless they know that it will hurt their game sales because the game came out bad. |

The whole 'cloud' thing is just mainframe servers revisited and in this day & age, for personal computing, is a horrible idea. It is very easy to get a static IP or use a free / cheap dynamic IP DNS and therefore can host anything you want to share yourself ( it's what I do ). Putting your data in the hands of a corporation set to make money can only lead to bad things ( see instagram claiming rights to reuse photos ). They have your data hostage and worse, you gave it to them willingly. For a gaming system and hosting games, what happens years down the road when the system is now outdated and the company no longer wishes to make those games available to you because they want to force you to their next platform?
The all in one entertainment box could be a cool idea, if done right, but of course, the Xboxone did not. Instead of teaming up with someone like Ceton and acting as a tuner & DVR ( ie. replacing your cable box ), the 'one' decided to be just another part of the 'many', pushing an overlay and using an HDMI interface at best ( but almost completely unsupported by set top boxes today ) or a problematic IR blaster for control options - ridiculous. The worse is used game scenario. With MS & publishers taking cuts of used game sales, the prices are going to skyrocket and thereby kill the used game market. This not only hurts Gamestop, but you, should you ever wish to ebay your game. This alone should be reason enough to prevent any logical person from even considering purchasing the device. Xbox One - everything done wrong at once. |

From what I heard Xbox is going to charge used game retailers more than they used to in order to release the "lock" they had on the games sent in by the owners of the XB1, which means companies like Gamestop will be making less than they normally would reselling used games by like double digit percentages. So essentially in order to realistically make a profit, those companies will have to charge ridiculously close to the original price which will probably kill their business. On the XBox side anyway.

I could be 100% wrong on this, but I believe I read somewhere, I don't remember where, PS/MS don't make money off of used games....which is why they will eventually try to kill the used game market. |

Just as a point of reference. Here is Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
You can buy a USED copy of it for the PS3/360 for $54.99....or a brand new copy for $59.99. http://www.gamestop.com/ps3/games/ca...-ops-ii/101864 http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/gam...-ops-ii/101863 Gamestop is a HUGE problem with the used game market. |

It went down about 12% after the news about XB1 came out. Check it and see where it's at now.

True they do. Doesn't mean games that have been out for a while aren't cheap used. Or aren't they? |

But really, what actually gives you the idea that goal of PS is anything other than making money off gamers, just like MS? You should attempt to look at thinks with rational thought & facts rather than just biased emotionally driven emotion - you'll stop making decisions like paying $10/month for Xbox Live. |
