It has nothing to do with bringing them back, but losing the competitive advantage that is afforded by having them for relative peanuts in a capped sport.

This season? Not sure there was anyone left available after they made the Love trade, would have to go back and look at the timing. Besides, if Cavs have Love and Irving healthy throughout the playoffs, there's a decent chance the win a ring and it's a moot point.
