Did Tony Stewart Kill Someone Tonight?

I'm seeing it on Twitter. On my phone and can't link. One of his fans says he ran over someone on a yellow and should be arrested for it.

Sauto brings up a good point about Stewart having to be on the lookout for safety workers.

That being said, I still can't get over the guy walking out into oncoming traffic. Hard to feel any sympathy.

If he had just "walked into traffic" he would have ended up in Tony's windshield.

Somebody posted a video of Stewart doing it earlier, and he went clear down to the bottom of the track. He was all up in the dudes passenger window, and the dude gunned his engine. If that dude had killed Stewart, I'd have just as little sympathy for Stewart.

With how pissed off Ward was last night, it was apparent he was coming after Stewart. I can't say for certain, but even if Stewart had stayed low, I think that Ward would have just come further down the track.

I don't know much about racing, I hope I used the term low correctly

Investigators should reenact this to get a better sense of how much vision he had. They can use significant technology to determine Tonys rate of speed at the time. Guarantee Helen Keller would have seen Ward. Tony wanted to spray dirt on him and it cost a human life.

Stewart's car has a camera that should help investigators.

I would say any normal racing maneuver leading up to the incident is irrelevent.

It doesn't matter whether the guy was rightfully or wrongfully upset at Stewart, because everything leading up to the accident was part of a sporting event.

The incident that should be investigated starts the moment Ward gets out of the vehicle.

Just my opinion.

You did.

I'll explain how here would have been no doubt if he had stayed low.

There would have been no where for him to go. The guy was on foot and tony could have turned left to avoid him. If he was low and ward kept coming down the track and got hit no one could say anything about what stewart did.

He was as confrontational as ward IMO, he stayed high to scare the guy and teach the guy a lesson.

Would a member of the safety crew walk away from where the actual crash was into a lower lane where the drivers are still driving? No.

If you are a driver driving behind a line of cars about to pass a wreck would you try to follow the lead of the car ahead of you so as to avoid hitting anything? Yes. You wouldn't swerve closer to the wreck itself. You would take the safest path.

Kevin Ward got out of the safety of his car, got dangerously close to passing racers, and then got even closer to Tony Stewart's car. Would a safety worker do something like that? Would a race car driver ever anticipate a safety worker doing something that foolish?

I hope you aren't pointing at me here.

Ward thought he got dumped whether he did or not... I think that can be agreed on.
