Two 1st round picks for Russell Wilson in '16 and '17 or '17 and '18

Do you sign the offer sheet if the Seahawks non-exclusively tag Russell Wilson?

Pole cumming.

Seattle is a QBs heaven. If you get 2 TDs, you're most likely going to win. Anything more and it's a blow out.

I didn't think I was going to change any minds but you've essentially built an argument that I can't win. Any number of stats, points and counterpoints I come up with will always end up with you coming back to this.

Virus, I think it's just an incomplete for me atleast.

It's just hard to judge him, because he has said defense and running back. Thats not fair to him, but he hasn't been asked to take as much risk as these other guys. Again, not fair to him to assume he can't, but in these things, seems it's always can't until he does.

I'm also curious as to why the Seahawks are dragging their feet on this.

Except he bounces around in that 5-12 range generally. It's not like he consistently plays great. For the most part he's a 200-220 yard 1-2 TD guy. That's NOT top 5 material.

I get you want to play the semantics game, but eh, I'm not in the mood. You know what I mean when I say these things. Aaron Rodgers has some bad games but for the most part he stays within that 1-5 range. Wilson has bad/great games but he stays in his range. Every player has a range they generally play in.

And for all the excuses Smith gets here, Tannehill gets none. His offensive line has been putrid at times, his running game down right awful, and his receivers aren't very good (I never liked Mike Wallace).

Stats kinda thing here

But in 4th quarter close games last year +-7 points, Wilson had a 52% comp rate, 3 tds and 1 pick, 0 Rushing TD's.

regular season that is.

Stats can always paint a narrative either way IMO.

Just contract negotiations, I'd imagine. We appear to be dragging our feet with Houston. Doesn't mean he isn't a beast.

Thats another thing, and I'm not just singling you out on it. But why do people get so upset about a member of the Chiefs (this is a Chiefs website) getting more excuses than other teams Qbs do?

Of course they will here. It's sports. Thats what you do. I don't care so much for it, but I get it.

Seems to really upset people so much that they can't even accept that some of them ARE legit excuses. It's not all black and white.

Because it is what it is. How can a player be elite when he doesn't put up elite production? How can he be elite when he's not asked to do much other than put a touchdown or 2 up a game. It's not like he's dominating games along with his defense. The defense is clearly the star of the show for the Seahawks. The defense since he's been there has been worth more to the Seahawks than he has. I can't make the same case for Rodgers and Luck.

Hootie always likes to point out how terrible the Colts became when Manning left. Well they've won 11 games every year since Luck was drafted. Why doesn't he get the same credit?

The question the Seahawks and Wilson are asking each other during the negotiations is whether he's worth being the highest paid QB. That won't be the question when it's Luck's turn. The negotiations will BEGIN at him being the highest paid QB ever and go up from there.

Here's the problem with CP and sports opinions. Many people here don't actually watch the games outside of the Chiefs. Or at least not nearly enough.

If you watched that game, you'd never forget it.

And looking back, Luck and the Colts were a paper team last year. They beat bad teams (save balt and cinci (meh)) and got destroyed by good teams.

Before this thread, it had been a while since I participated in a real football debate on this board. Thought those days were over. This is nice.

I get annoyed because I have to argue with these idiots day in and day out. When you've got people ranking Tannehill in the "trash heap", you've seriously got to question people's evaluation skills.. Or whether or not they watch games other than the Chiefs- which I'm almost certain most of CP doesn't.

Yep. People won't acknowledge it but the Hawks got REAL lucky that game. They had no business even being close much less winning.

This thread is shockingly devoid of Alex Smith mentions. Well done, gents. "No touching of the hair or face".
