Damnit. I go to sleep and juicey information comes out. Maybe I'll go to sleep right before the draft so Dorsey can **** the dolphins in the ass.

Branden Albert - T - Chiefs
The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero gets the "sense" the Dolphins will acquire Branden Albert from the Chiefs by the weekend. As do we. Salguero confirmed Wednesday evening the Dolphins are willing to pay Albert "elite left tackle money," which means the only obstacle left is draft-pick compensation for Kansas City. Fins GM Jeff Ireland is in all-out win-now mode because he's entering a contract year and may have received an ultimatum from owner Stephen Ross that Miami makes the playoffs, or else Ireland is out. Today I woke up and for the first time in months believed I wasn't sure what the Chiefs were going to do.
We don't know what the Chiefs board looks like so perhaps they have Floyd no. 1 and Joekel no. 2. They could be virtually even to the point the Chiefs dangle Albert and see if they can get their two 2's back. If so, draft Joekel and be happy we have our 2's back. If not, no biggie. Take Floyd and then show Albert the money. They've simply played out every possibility so far and it's cost them nothing to try. |

Hate to contradict Marty, but I asked if the Chiefs are talking to Miami about moving up to 1 and I was told absolutely not.

I admit didn't figure #1 was in play. Just to much for a team to give up to move there. On the other hand trading BA for a second rounder is another story... just which second rounder that may be?

Exactly. That's really not bad. It's still almost 9mil a year, but he'll be 10th best paid tackle in just a year or twos times, the way salaries keep floating up.

Why the **** would Miami let Jake Long walk and sign Albert for close to the same deal unless BA is taking substantially less in guaranteed monies?
