Yea because he should've been airing it out to Bowe/Hammond/Hemmingway/Avery last season.

The second Albert Wilson entered the starting lineup Smith started taking shots downfield. This is not a coincidence.

In the last 5-6 games of 2013, Alex "aired it out" with basically the exact same group of receivers that he had in 2014. In fact, you might even argue he had it better in 2014 because of Travis Kelce.

None of those are any excuse for why he doesn't have a single 4000 yard passing season or 1000 yard receiver (WR or TE) in his 11-year NFL career.

Don't be objective when these guys are trying to stick with the narrative

Romo had his best season last year and it wasn't even close. Most of that was due to his offense being better overall. That's all I'm trying to get at.

The way Alex Smith performers in the playoff game without Charles, Kelce, Maclin and Wilson leads me to think we are going to see a lot more of that version this season. This is by far the most talent he's had around him and he will be better bc of it just like Romo. Anybody who can't agree with this logic is just choosing not to be objective.

Ah, hell - why did we go get Maclin then? Could have saved the money had we known that two starts from Albert Wilson is all it takes to get Alex to throw downfield more.

The difference there was the Oline. Our Oline really got it going towards the end of '13.

Of course it isn't.

Because he's usually had to score a ton of points to win every week because of his poor defense.

I'd be willing to bet Romo has lost more games scoring 30+ points than any QB in history.

Because he's the ****ing QB and his team finally looked like a SB contender. He had the fewest INT's in his career and the best QB rating of his career. He shut just about every doubter he had up. He also did it with a mid season injury to his back.

Basically, he's the qb and his team won more games?

Two questions.

How exactly are you coming to the conclusion that last year was Romo's best year, and it "wasn't even close"?

Are you saying that Alex's performance - in a playoff game two years ago against one of the worst defenses in the league - is evidence for how he'll perform in 2015?

Sorry, make that three questions.

Why didn't we see that level of performance in 2014 with all of those injured players back on the field and the addition of Kelce?

JFC do you read? Fewest INT's (his biggest weakness) and best QB rating attached to those wins doesn't equal his best season yet?

Why were his other seasons better? Stats? Which you just said yourself aren't indicative of great QB play when your team is losing. How else do we judge a ****ing QB then?

You were already pretty much dead in the water, but bringing QB rating into the conversation seals it.

Might be the most worthless stat in all of professional sports.

First off, no, I didn't say they aren't indicative of great qb play, they're not a substantial stat in regards to wins. Tds however, are.

I judge a qb by how the qb plays, his stats being a part of that. Wins and losses aren't nor have they ever been a star to judge qbs by
