I don't understand that. With his speed, Wong is much, much better suited for leadoff than Jay.

The biggest problem with the Cardinals' offense is that they don't have a #4 hitter. Right now, we've got a glut of #6 hitters on this team: Adams, Heyward, and Yadi.

If you were to go by what the A's gave up for Samardzija and Hammel, I'm not so sure thats as bad of a deal as its made to seem. Cole is maybe a top 15 pitcher in the league, if not top 10.

Talking about a RP in Martinez who's numbers weren't all the impressive but had potential plus a 51st ranked and 79th ranked MiLB prospects.

Which was a terrible trade that severely hamstrung the A's. What the Tigers gave up for Price is a much fairer trade, especially given Hamels' salary.

Ruben Amaro has always overvalued his own players, which is why he never traded Lee when he actually had a market, and why he currently has one of the worst rosters in baseball, and the most overpaid by far.

If he has a tradeable asset, it's just going to have to rot, because he's too ****ing stupid to properly value it.

Carlos Martinez was a year removed from being the top pitching prospect in baseball. He's not just some RP. Get your ignorant Cub ass out of here.

So you think a top 10 pitcher in the MLB is only worth Drew Smyly and a couple throw ins?

I would say the value is somewhere in the middle. Martinez is probably off the table given how he's pitching so far this year, but I'd give up those 2 prospects for Hamels.

You're a ****ing moron if you think Hamels is a top 10 pitcher. This isn't 2008 anymore.

He was 9th in ERA last season. He's been in the top 10 like 3 or 4 times since 2008 with a a couple other seasons ending around top 15 with only 1 season being below average.

Carp has to go down. Our offense just can't let someone bash the ball like he does without men on base. If it makes things worse, put him back in at lead off.

I like Wong at lead off better than Jay.

Wong
Carp
Heyward
Holliday
Peralta
Molina
Jay
Adams
Pitcher

What pitchers would you take over him?

I'll start:

Kershaw
Wainwright
Price
Scherzer
Greinke
Hernandez
Cueto
Lester
Baumgarner
Harvey

I'd put him as a top 10-15 pitcher.

Wainwright
Sale
Baumgarner
Kluber
Teheran
Lester
Cole
Gray
Archer

I'll just stop there.

That doesn't even factor in age, contract, etc. It would be crippling to this franchise to make a move on him, unless they can get it at a complete steal.
