Hummel was on sports talk in STL radio today and said he heard that when the cardinals talked to Philly in the off season about a possible Hamels trade that Philly wanted Martinez/Reyes/Piscotty

The biggest problem with the Cardinals' offense is that they don't have a #4 hitter. Right now, we've got a glut of #6 hitters on this team: Adams, Heyward, and Yadi. |

Talking about a RP in Martinez who's numbers weren't all the impressive but had potential plus a 51st ranked and 79th ranked MiLB prospects. |

Ruben Amaro has always overvalued his own players, which is why he never traded Lee when he actually had a market, and why he currently has one of the worst rosters in baseball, and the most overpaid by far. If he has a tradeable asset, it's just going to have to rot, because he's too ****ing stupid to properly value it. Carlos Martinez was a year removed from being the top pitching prospect in baseball. He's not just some RP. Get your ignorant Cub ass out of here. |

I would say the value is somewhere in the middle. Martinez is probably off the table given how he's pitching so far this year, but I'd give up those 2 prospects for Hamels. |

You're a ****ing moron if you think Hamels is a top 10 pitcher. This isn't 2008 anymore.

He was 9th in ERA last season. He's been in the top 10 like 3 or 4 times since 2008 with a a couple other seasons ending around top 15 with only 1 season being below average. |

That doesn't even factor in age, contract, etc. It would be crippling to this franchise to make a move on him, unless they can get it at a complete steal.
