Oakland was a team that was reportedly interested in Tomas. Hopefully this lessens that interest.

Former Royals designated hitter Billy Butler agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with the Athletics, reports MLBDailyRumors.com. The Royals had declined their 2015 option on Butler, who hit .271 with nine homers and 66 RBI in 549 at-bats.

Butler, 28, reportedly will receive a $5 million signing bonus.

I don't know if he'll be Silver Slugger good, but I think Butler will bounce back a bit. The change of scenery will probably help too. Although he's not going to a good hitting park.
